July ended with the rerun of School of Rock — show terakhir yg Papa nonton pas dia masih hidup. Selama proses latihan, jujur berat, karena aku banyak latihan lagu-lagu SOR sambil disetirin Papa. I sang and reviewed all my lines in the car with him driving. Aku inget Papa manggut-manggut dengerin “Where Did The Rock Go” sambil aku ceritain arti lagunya.

Tahun ini, lirik nya benar-benar nusuk:

“Tell me where did the time go?
Where’s the joy I used to know way back when?”

2 bulan terakhir, hidupku rasanya diterjang ombak tanpa berhenti. Aku start rehearsal SOR 4 hari setelah nikah. 1 hari setelah final show, Papa perayaan kematian 40 hari, malam nya JICC start semester baru. I wasn’t ready, but I had to show up. Aku banyak ditanya gimana caranya bisa tetap kuat di kerjaan.

Jawabannya: Nope, jujur aku sama sekali gak kuat. Aku banyak banget nangis. Habis rehearsal, sebelum show, banyak banget mini breakdown nya. Kalau lagi pengen nangis ya aku nangisin aja. But I still showed up as much as I could — imperfectly, brokenly.

Bukan buat aku. Aku tetap datang karena dikelilingi banyak banget orang baik. These people believed in me more than I believed in myself. Mereka percaya aku bisa, dan mereka juga kasih aku space untuk hancur disaat aku butuh. Tanpa menghakimi. Tanpa nasehat yg gak perlu. Coz sometimes you just need a hug, not advice.

I am strong because I am allowed to be weak.

This year I learned that true strength does not have a certain look. Sometimes it looks like toughness, a brave smile, and perfect makeup. Sometimes it looks like getting out of bed with swollen eyes and unwashed hair.

Most of the time, it looks like showing up; imperfectly, shamelessly — as a forever flawed beautiful mess of a human that we are. (1/2)

15 years unlocked. 🔓✨

Thousands of lessons, countless stories, and one thing I keep learning: the voice is always "more" than just singing.

I used to think my role was to help people sing better, perform better, win competitions, or land auditions. Those achievements still mean a lot to me.

But over time, I’ve realized that the most meaningful journey for me is to witness someone find their true voice, fall in love with it, and express themselves genuinely. It brings me great joy to witness someone rediscover themselves through music and lyrics.

After all, production ends and the curtains eventually close, but the voice stays with you long after the final bow.

Fifteen years in, and I feel like I’m only beginning to understand the depth of this craft. Truly a life-long journey.

For every reminder that teaching is also learning.

Lagu udah tinggi dinaikin lagi 1 semitone trus ditambahin improv di bagian menyebalkan coz why not 🙈 love to challenge my students and enjoy watching them suffer... a little bit hehehe 😈 #jahat

One year after my Dad died, I learn that grief morphs into many different forms. This is the kind of grief I didn't expect to have, but here it is.

Bentuknya macam-macam. But at the bottom of it, I know that there is Love. There's always been, and always will be. Love.
