MONZA 6H 🏁 | @gtendurancecup RACE RECAP

What a tough race it was!

We started from P5 after a miscommunication during qualifying. We believed towing wasn’t allowed, which meant we couldn’t leave the pits for another run and ended up starting much further back than we had hoped.

Despite that, we had a great start, stayed clean through Turn 1, and quickly worked our way up to P3 in class. At that point, we were the fastest car on track thanks to our strategy of starting with just 40L of fuel, allowing us to push hard early in the race.

After 10 laps, Bram took over for his stint. Unfortunately, a miscalculation led to contact with the #127 car, resulting in a meatball flag and an unscheduled repair stop. That setback dropped us 4 laps behind the class leader.

From there, it was all about fighting back. With a strong recovery drive and despite avoiding two more incidents, we managed to climb back to P8, finishing just 2 laps behind the class leader, right behind our friends at @antaresracing .

Not the result we were aiming for, but we never gave up and kept pushing until the very end.

WE HAD A REAL FLYING LAP TODAY!!

Practice 1&2 today of the @gtendurancecup started today pretty well, with a P6 finish in Practice 1 where we practiced consistentcy and looked at what other do!

Practiced 2 we focused on Speed, we managed to Pull out a P1 finish in practice 2 with 0,300 behind the overal leader in our debut weekend

New look for our @gtendurancecup entry at Monza this weekend!
With drivers

Bram Aerts 🇧🇪 a expierianced driver that knows how to move the car consistent around the track, with his high tech gear he will show us who he is!

Ran Vansteelant 🇧🇪 Young driver that has won the Belgian AM title in ACC, Really fast and a real underdog

Kenny Vinck (aka Den Engineer) 🇧🇪 He won’t be physically present, but he will guide us thru everything from a distance while he’s on holiday!

Buby Bertels 🇧🇪 Reserve driver If there’s one man to call as a reserve, it’s him! Just make sure to call him well in advance, or he’ll be late. Although he doesn’t have a lot of experience, he’ll do everything he can to help us reach the finish line.

With a strong line up of these 2 main drivers well do everything we can to go for a Win this weekend in the 3 hours of Monza
