my little review of mizuho from @wakokorotea 💌
this one’s a reserve grade, first harvest matcha crafted from the okumidori cultivar. 🍃

a beautiful jade green with a fresh, green and subtle nutty scent. on the first sip, i immediately got that savory umami, almost like toasted nori. i tried it both as a latte and usucha, and i was right about the floral notes — they came through beautifully and surprisingly in the middle, followed by a hint of sweetness and creaminess at the end. ✿˖˚ ༘☁️𖦹.✧˚

the flavor lingers so beautifully, with just a little astringency at the end. 🍵

fyi, this is my own review based on my personal experience. your palate may be different. ♡

my favorite little place in the world 𓏲 ๋࣭ ࣪ ˖🎐

i love the little life i’ve created here: every detail, from the pinks, greens and whites to the flowers and my little chawans, feels so much like me. it’s tiny, but cozy, and somehow it’s where i spend most of my time. ༘⋆🌷🫧💭₊˚ෆ

there’s still so much i want to add, but i’m just so grateful for this tiny space i get to call mine. a little matcha corner reset, ahhhh… feeling a little teary-eyed and kilig over it all! 🥹

finally tried the oishi ceremonial matcha saemidori from @nio_japanese_green_tea! 𑣲⋆

i’ve heard so many good things about this matcha, and i can definitely see why. it did not disappoint! it smells so fragrant and sweet, and as a latte, it has subtle vegetal notes, a creamy texture, and a hint of sweetness that i love. ✩°𓏲⋆🌿.

one thing that surprised me was how there was little to no bitterness or astringency at all. so easy to enjoy and love! even paired with biscoff cream, the matcha still stands out. smooth and finishes clean. ⋆˚꩜｡

you should definitely give this one a try!! 🍵✨

ep. 02 — palitaw matcha latte ☁️*ੈ✩‧₊˚

i’ve seen so many people make dango matcha lattes, and i tried one before too. it was SO good! then earlier this morning, my Nanang woke up with one of her favorite kakanin: palitaw. 🥹🤍

i grew up buying palitaw from vendors walking through our neighborhood with a big bilao on their heads. it’s a soft, chewy Filipino rice cake made with glutinous rice flour, then rolled in grated coconut and sugar, sometimes with toasted sesame seeds.

then i thought… why not make our own dango, but Filipino version? 🍡

and omg. the combination is a dream. chewy palitaw, coconut for extra texture, brown sugar syrup, cream, and matcha. 😭

i used Haze from @rebelbunnymatcha, and even with the cream and all those flavors, it STILL stood out and screamed matcha in the most elegant way. 🍵✨

Filipino kakanin + matcha = apparently a match made in heaven. 🇵🇭⋆.𖦹°·🫧

if there’s one filipino dessert i’ll never get tired of, it’s taho. forever my bias and number one childhood comfort food. -`♡´-

taho is made with warm silken tofu, dark brown sugar syrup (arnibal), and chewy sago pearls. 𖦹 °✩

and with matcha?! it tastes almost like a brown sugar milk tea but softer, creamier, and perfectly balanced. the silky tofu + chewy sago just make it so good.

it deserves the hype. IT IS SO GOOD. period. 🤌🏻🇵🇭
