While we often hear about the leather workers of Florence or the silk weavers of Varanasi, Britain’s artisan skills are rarely mentioned, as if craftsmanship was in terminal decline. We intend to address that misapprehension and show that the time-honoured craft of metalworking is higher in the UK than anywhere else in the world. If quality matters, British artisans deliver. ⁠

Created with @studioypsilon for a dining room in Mayfair, London, this bespoke ceiling plate brings together a constellation of Bide lights in different sizes, transforming the individual pieces into one beautifully resolved composition.

We love working closely with our clients to develop pieces for specific projects, especially when the result can evolve into a new design for the wider Bert Frank collection.

The composition transforms the ceiling into a defining feature of the room, and we look forward to launching it as Bide Ypsilon in the coming months for all our clients to enjoy.

A first look at our new display at The Design Emporium.

The scheme offers an exclusive preview of the Arbor collection extension, introducing new wall lights and pendants ahead of their official launch in November.
Also featured are our newly launched Sablier collection and Eos collection, including the Eos Double Wall Light introduced in June.

The Sablier Pendant is elegant on its own, beautifully balanced as a pair, and takes on a completely new presence when grouped in a cluster.

Its frosted glass casts a warm, diffused glow, complemented by intricate CNC-machined solid brass detailing. Exceptional materials and precision engineering are at the heart of every Bert Frank piece.

Today we launch Sablier, our new collection of pendant and wall lights.

Inspired by the hourglass, each piece combines bold, oversized proportions with softly glowing frosted glass. Closed at the base, the glass conceals the light source to create a beautifully diffused, uninterrupted glow.

Pictured here, the Sablier Pendant and oversized double-ended Wall Light bring two very different scales to the collection, united by the same sculptural form and finely detailed brasswork.
