We are 3 days away from One Voice in Dallas kicking off and 4 days away from my first ever speaking engagement at one of the prominent Voice Over conferences in the industry!

ℹ️My session “Beyond the Booth” kicks off this Friday August 22 at 3:30 PM CST in the Maverick Room (Breakout Room 2), at the Dallas Forth Worth Hyatt hotel. I will be imparting you with information for the next generation of voice over
actors who won’t just perform, they will build, innovate, and own the future of storytelling! We will touch on the expanding technologies in the XR(AR/VR) space, AI and the fast rapidly evolving spaces of media. VOICE is the common thread in all of these experiences and it isn’t going nowhere! (Here is a sneak Peek of a few of the slides 😏)
I will be bringing the Snapchat Spectacles and Meta Ray Displays for ppl to try after the session as well 👓!

🗣️🎙️Shout to J Michael Collin’s and the team at One Voice for providing this opportunity and platform for us in the industry!

If you haven’t gotten your ticket there is still time , I just signed up for 3 paid classes myself. If y’all are still on the fence I have a speaker coupon that can save you 10% on your ticket , for a day or the weekend! OVCSPKR10 Look forward to seeing y’all there and I’m always down to talk tech and entertainment!

At the SOJC, students examine where media is headed—not just where it’s been.

Learn how Immersive Media Communication Master’s student Berto Jolliffe (@bertoboushae) is combining voice, technology and innovation to imagine the future of storytelling.

As media technologies evolve, one thing remains constant: the power of story. Berto is studying how immersive media can enhance presence, accessibility and everyday human experience.

Ahhh, So You Think You Want to be a Voice Over Actor!? aka The VO Book is OUT NOW!!!!

Head on over to TheVOBook.com (link in bio) and submit your order! It’s been a long time, coming almost 2 years in the making from the ideas, to rough draft, to editing, to illustration, to more editing and tweaking to samples and now the final physical book!

I hope you enjoy it and can’t wait to hear the reviews! I am a published author now for the first time !!!Thanks all who helped me along this journey truly and couldn’t have got her with out @birdhousepublishing !

Let me know if yall need a speaker at your events and schools I’m more than happy to do so! Also if you know of ways or places where I can further expand the presence of my book(Your workplace, school, business, daycare, university, local bookstores and learning programs) please let me know so I can get in contact!

The book will start appearing more on other platforms as well but I have the direct link just in case you can’t find it. The Audiobook and e-Book will be rolling out in the same fashion.

Respectfully,
-Berto

I got a fun build for y’all today , I turned my Meta Ray-Ban Display into a real Power Scouter. 👓💥Tap SCAN with the Neural Band → it locks onto whoever you’re looking at, reads their power level, and if they clear 9,000… you already know what happens. 🔴📈!!!

Ever since the Ray-Ban Display landed on my face, one idea wouldn’t leave me alone: this thing is basically a 🐉 Dragon Ball scouter. A see-through lens, a heads-up display, a camera pointed at whatever I’m looking at…all it was missing was a power level and a klaxon. So I built one.

Face-seeded readings, pet detection (yes, your dog and cats can get scanned 🐶🐱), and every scan saves a trophy shot with the full HUD baked in and in your photo album.
100% on-device.

I’m still trying to work through iterations of this project , I couldn’t fully screen record on the Meta Ray-Ban Display Glasses , due to the camera running when I press scan. Maybe there is a workaround, this is why you only see some of the experience and I added pics at the end of the video and will put some in the comments!

Built with Swift + Meta’s Wearables Device Access Toolkit.

👓✨ Meet XploreR , my new mvp app for the Meta Ray-Ban Display that puts local events right on your glasses.

As you know it’s Tech-Tember and so many great product releases are happening this month, today especially with Specs from Spectacles and some more announcements next week for Meta Connect!

As I approach the time I start my final classes at the University of Oregon one of which is my Capstone. I have been ideating on ways to build event discovery in the XR space to explore local communities as you walk around a city or quickly in whatever you moment you may be in.

I have built one portion of my project I have deemed XploreR ! A play on XR and Exploring.
Concerts 🎸 food festivals 🌮 art shows 🎭 comedy nights 🎤, XploreR finds what’s happening around you, and a walking compass literally points you there. Save an event and your glasses remind you before it starts.Built solo with SwiftUI + Meta’s Wearables Device Access Toolkit. Many cities live now, many more to come. 🌍

Check out the video and give me your thoughts! It utilizes your current location to find events locally that are niche and with Seat Geek and TicketMaster for big name events!
Shoot out to:
@lens.list @xr.bazaar @xrprof @mxnathanc for all the insight inspiration and guidance!

👋🏾Here is the recording of my presentation titled 🎙️ “Beyond the Booth” that I presented at the One Voice Conference in Dallas Texas!

I’m super thankful for the people who showed up in person and now you can watch this online on YouTube or on the Reattandance platform as well

👇🏾Here is the link since IG only lets me upload 20 mins:

https://youtu.be/9jOFbPcdoTg?is=wlhrP4EGHC-hUyzx

ℹ️Overview:

The next generation of voice actors won’t just perform, we’ll build, innovate, and help shape the future of storytelling.

In my full Beyond the Booth presentation, I explore where voiceover is headed and the opportunities emerging beyond traditional VO…including UGC, streaming, content creation, attention vs. followers, AI, AI fraud & voice protection, and AR/VR & immersive storytelling.

Most importantly, you don’t have to be a “tech expert” to understand or take advantage of what’s coming.

This is about recognizing the shifts happening around us, protecting what we create, and positioning ourselves to participate in the future…not just react to it.

🎥 Check out the full presentation and let me know what stands out to you!

Teaching men empathy, one cramp at a time PERIOD. 🤣 Part 2!!!

This weekend at the One Voice Conference we hooked up some very *brave* voice actor men to a period cramp simulator to show them what it’s like in our shoes.

We filmed a bunch of guys, and more videos are coming soon! 😆

Thank you Peter Dickson, Berto Boushae, and Jeff Hawkins for subjecting yourselves to the experiment. These guys are classy and awesome enough to look ridiculous on camera on behalf of their female colleagues and the women in their lives.

You’re good ones, guys.

Also, women are amazing.

🗣️🎙️One Voice Dallas was one for the books!
It was my first time doing a speaking session 🤓which sparked great conversation and opened up others to what is happened in the tech and multimedia spaces!

I got to connect with some friends, made some new and had many great gems passed on to me in a lot of the sessions I attended! Also was cool to hang out with my Moms and introduce her to the wonderful world of Voice Over! She made more friends than me lol 😂! I know this is the last time One Voice will be in Texas 🤠so glad to know I was a part of its history here! LA see you next year!

Oh yea went to Delilah’s a restaurant in Dallas and yea that was bomb!!! 🤤

(I’ll post my full presentation later this week)

Remember people go after your dreams , do too much ! Leave it all on the field ! You only get to be on this rodeo called life once !

Excited to finally share a first look at The Amazing Tale of Space! 🚀🌌

I had the opportunity to voice Captain Zane in this new animated sci-fi adventure, working alongside an incredibly talented cast and creative team.

What makes this one especially cool is the team behind it. These are creators who have worked on projects for brands like LEGO , DC Toys, Toy Story and many others, and now they’re bringing that experience into an original world of their own.

The Amazing Tale of Space takes young explorers on an adventure across the universe…blending science, imagination, technology, and storytelling in a way that makes some pretty massive concepts feel fun and accessible.

This trailer is a first look at the world they’re building as the team works to bring the full project to life and I’m proud to be part of that journey as Captain Zane. 🎙️🚀

Check out the trailer and show the entire team some love!
