Morning light in the library.

We completely gutted and reimagined the library in our latest country house project, starting with the paneled walls and millwork I designed to give it warmth, a sense of architecture, and permanence—as though it has always been there and always will be.

I found this wonderful Virginia White fabric some time ago and knew immediately that I wanted to use it in this room, long before the rest of the design had taken shape. I love how it brings a fresh perspective to a traditional English country house fabric.

Zinc countertop & sink in process. We are working with @northlandwoodworks to help them complete this project for @andrewflesherinteriors . This countertop and sink are receiving @verometal_ in Zinc using the Aqua spray binder. Today Alex Kulikov @alchymiastudio is sanding and polishing the metal. This will be a “live” finish. What an incredible two days learning the art of VeroMetal cold liquid metal application!

I had the opportunity to attend a 2-day VeroMetal class through Bespoke Finishes, hosted at NYC Fine Finishes and instructed by Ciaran, master finisher, certified VeroMetal applicator, and owner of NYC Fine Finishes.

Over the two days, we learned the fundamentals of cold liquid metal application and got hands-on with how different metals, textures, techniques, and patinas can completely transform a surface. Seeing how each variable changes the final result really opened my eyes to just how many possibilities there are with this system.

The creative potential feels almost endless, and I’m extremely excited to start experimenting, developing my own finishes, and finding ways to incorporate VeroMetal into future projects.

It was an absolute honor to learn from a craftsman of Ciaran’s caliber. His knowledge, attention to detail, and willingness to share his experience made this training something I won’t forget.

It’s been a busy few days of traveling. On Wednesday afternoon, I landed at LaGuardia airport, checked into my hotel and headed over to visit Jesse Boiangiu @abbotpaint who is our NYC based @verometalna reseller. We had a great visit, discussed strategy and market needs. I headed back to my hotel where I was waiting for Gary Annino @thedivineartisans to arrive. Like many travelers on Wednesday he was delayed by weather. On Thursday we met up in the lobby of our hotel to catch up. Then headed out to Manhattan for an early meeting with Tony Ingrao @ingraodesign who is a revered architecture and design firm. I was meeting Tony for the first time through his previous long term working relationship with Gary. We were discussing using @verometal_ for an onsite project based in Washington D.C. I was provided the control sample to match. We also discussed Bespoke Color and the common issues it solves. Much more to come from that. It was a great meeting. Then we headed over to another equally revered firm Peter Marino Architecture @petermarinoarchitect where we also discussed VeroMetal and once again Bespoke Color. Today I flew to Ronald Regan airport in D.C. to have a site visit at the residence where using VeroMetal was specified. It’s a beautiful home with a soon to be grand staircase. Now I’m back at airport hoping my flight home is not further delayed. Stay tuned all…. taken in Washington D. C. by @bespokefinish
