This young lady came to see Heather for the first time about a year ago. Heather recommended that she take photos and track her progress, because even though she thought she would remember what she looked like, she would not. A year ago the girl in the first photo needed to see the girl in the last photo. She needed to see that someone’s face looked like hers and that it could get better. Skincare is a journey. It takes patience, but most importantly, it takes regimen. She has been a model patient and she is reaping the reward. My most commonly asked question is how did I become a skin of color specialist.

It has always been so important to me that ALL clients feel like their skin is a priority to me. Skincare should be accessible to everyone. School teaches us a little about a lot of things, but not a lot about any one thing. When I started working for that dermatologist, and most of our clientele had skin of color, it became clear to me that it was my responsibility to learn more about skin of color. If this clientele was going to be my clientele, they were going to know that I was providing the best care I possibly could. I found it to be fascinating, and my brain just understood it. Treating ALL skin is my passion and I’m so excited our industry is trending in a more inclusive direction.

I love my clients and I will always stay on top of my education because you all deserve the best. 🫶❤️

**Updated before & after**

She used her products, she stuck with the treatment plan, and now we are officially in the maintenance phase. You have to maintain your results! If you only come when you have a problem, you are already behind. Acne is controlled, not cured. You have to be patient and consistent. The message is always the same. 🙌❤️

If you are frustrated with your skin, let’s figure it out together. I promise if you stay consistent you can have “after photo” skin too. ❤️

If there is one thing I try to educate my clients on, it is that consistency is the key to success! Skin health, like anything else in life, requires discipline, work, and consistency.

Many of my clients have been with me for 15+ years. Many started as acne clients, and have turned into maintenance clients. And they have aged like fine wine! If you start early, you will be grateful when you are older. Nothing ages you like the tone and texture of your skin!

Maintenance > Correction! It’s cheaper, y'all!

My favorite service? That's a loaded question - I love them all! Combination therapies are my favorite!

BBL + Moxi is always a game-changer for my skin. In the treatment room, I've been loving PRX lately. Many clients have said it’s their new favorite too! And of course, my beloved PCA Peels. I love a customized peel. Pry them from my cold dead hands.

Thursday is National Esthetician Day and I thought it would be fun to take a trip down memory lane and share all the things that make this job special to me. 🩷

For much of my life, Mrs. Holland has been my mom’s best friend, and a second mother to me. When I was younger I was a wild animal, a late bloomer. I've always been a fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants kind of girl. My parents were like girl you need to figure this adulting thing out before we kill you (iykyk 🤪) and it was this special lady that suggested esthetics. She probably doesn't even remember that, but I certainly do.

Not everyone takes the traditional route, and there is a path for everyone. When I went to esthetics school, I found my place, and that decision changed the course of my life.
