The BSCLB initiative from First 5 LA is coming to a close, therefore Thursday will be the last partnership meeting. Long Beach Forward is grateful for the opportunity to have been the anchor for the BSCLB initiative and help support the community leaders that helped run participatory budgeting processes and education, advocated for the Community Change Agenda and supported the many community projects throughout the years.

Thank you to all of you that have served as partners and supporters of this initiative. We hope you can join us for this special meeting.

The Long Beach Unified School District will be closing two schools- Edison and Gompers. I am a parent with a child with an IEP that has gone through the impact of school closures. Here’s what I remember from fellow parents and myself ☝🏽 LBUSD at the public school board meeting has reminded folks that a student’s IEP stands as written at any school but @longbeachusd here’s a couple more ways you can help support families who now have to make choices around schools through school of choice. Friends, feel free to drop more tips in the comments. by @beststartclb
