"My art traverses the figurative to the abstract; observing ordinary life that surrounds me. My practice encompasses printmaking, performance, sculpture, and installation. My artistic journey began with clay, photography and dance. Each of these disciplines still reside within my work. I embrace chance and choice as elemental, moving from conceptual to material, mixing reality and dreams to create a collage of my personal journey within the world that surrounds us. I focus on the shifting layers of experience, balancing between the deeply personal and the political. My art reflects my sense of the impermanence of existence, while seeking to locate myself within the chaos of our contemporary world." @beth.fein

From my observations of Tomales Bay; blended with graphic scientific data from water reclamation projects. "Vuelo de Cambio" is about place, water, bio invasive species & climate change.

These deconstructed photos, inspired by a water reclamation project in central California, are re-imagined as photo etchings with blind emboss that include abstracted scientific data used in actual water reclamation projects.

I was able to add three amazing pieces to my collection in the effort to support immigrant families. Work from Mary marsh, Irene Nelson, Gail Tarantino.

This weekend there is another chance to purchase work from the “Art Without Borders” fundraiser. Hosted June 13 & 14 11-5pm during the the Jingletown Art Walk & East Bay Open Studios, 2934 Ford Street, Oakland.

“A Tree Begins With a Seed,” my print in the global Al-Mutanabbi Street Starts Here project, is included in “Art Without Borders.” A one-day art sale at @lapenaculturalcenter to raise money for immigrant advocacy and support in the bay area. Sunday, May 31, 2–5pm.

My print is the bombing, the blood spilled, the books burnt, but is also about the future and hope. In the print the phrase “speak truth to power” in Arabic is exploded and blown across the page. All the letters of the phrase are there - ready to speak again.
