A lot of prep work, testing, and brain power went into the layers of making this commercial for @doordash

Each puppet was sourced, tailored, designed and made to fit the character, and brought to life by some of the best puppeteers and animators going. What a bloody PRIVILEGE!

Puppet Diaries: Part 4

Had a little break from posting as I’ve had a fun pitch come in and ya girl’s gotta eat something other than cabbages. I’ll be back soon enough!

In other news, did you know ASMR actually stands for asthma which is why all you can hear is my heavy breathing? So intense.

Interrupting Puppet Dairies briefly to share some actual directing work. I felt like a kid again in this amazing set build by @allset_artdirection - so many buttons and dials! A total playground for the AMAZING @koshaengler and I to do some very fun, cartoony character layers.

Thank you for having me @maverickteam @megnassh and to the rest of the excellent team who worked on this with us 💖

Puppet Diaries: Part 3

Painting! 🎨

I agree it’s an embarrassingly make shift shift head holder so if anyone knows what you’re actually supposed to do to hold it in place while you work that doesn’t include a hair grip or a screw please holla

Lots of fun but the DIY approach gets worse tomorrow. I had an absolute fuckin’ mare trying to make some bones for the body today. During a heatwave too.

Back sooner than you thought eh? Today is all about sculpting her head and a bit of context for those of you who lost your minds yesterday about what the fuck I’m doing

PS. I’m still a director

Puppet Diaries: Part 1
(Aka accountability to make stuff)

Recently I’ve been missing making things with my hands, so I’ve decided it’s time to start doing some of my fave character and world building on a tabletop scale. Watch along as “Cabbage Lady” (and, I imagine, other characters when I get bored) slowly comes to life over the coming weeks, and as I inevitably turn into Quasimodo from all the cretinous hunching over my desk.

I’ll be chattering away about all sorts of shit during the videos… you’ve been warned.

My favourite way to punctuate the shooting year is shooting these joyful LEGO explosions. Thanks for having me again even if I nearly disappeared into a puddle of sweat 🫶 💭 ✨

Back with the gang at @freefolkstudios with @mattetaylor @michael_nixon_editor @marty_colour and of course the fabulous @indochinaproductions over in Thailand.

Full film can be found on my website y’all 🧡💛🩷💜

An homage to summer… I actually bought a BBQ this year and I have to say, standing around a sausage furnace while the sun beats down on you and hungry guests sit in a circle watching…waiting… isn’t as “fun and chill” as my Dad has always made it look.

I preferred this BBQ, complete with flame bar and food stylists @foodstyling_kuehnel and @karsten_schultz . It made my life a lot easier!
