tacos at the walk up window and batting cages we love our little escapes to Santa Barbara by @bethanylorang
well…it has been one year since my mother passed away. it doesn’t feel like one year. the urge to call her is torture. i’ve made dear friends with grief as i come to realize it won’t ever really change or go away. but along with grief comes the deepest of joy and remembrance… so that is what i share today. memories of her. her silly. her cackle. her jokes. fun with friends. her celebration. her. mommy. my mommy. i am all love and silly because of her. i am because of her. i hear her in my own voice and see her in my own actions. i feel her all around me. and i will shout forever that she was real and she was mine and she was yours. she was real. and she lived. i love you every day, dear mommy of mine. by @bethanylorang

thoughts on grief // it seems to get worse instead of better the forever part gets clearer and clearer and life suddenly feels very long there is no rational in someone being there and then just not a whole world is lost a whole entire world gone and even though you see the signs and feel the presence you are not spared the heartache you become a different person that only others who have also lost can understand the flavor of the whole world changes but you aren’t sure what to call it and yet life moves on and so do you there is space for all joy and all sorrow excitement mixed with devastation progress mixed with not caring at all what will one year be like? 5? 10? 20? the grief will never leave but you do grow life around it there is only space to grow life grow by @bethanylorang

her some of my favs ✨ by @bethanylorang
the goodbye is harder than i could have anticipated. the grief is awful. the complexity between relief and joy and sorrow and despair. after suffering with an immune disease for 25 years she is finally out of pain, yet how do i face the rest of my life never speaking to her again? there will be everything to share without her voice to share it with. now i carry that empty space around knowing i will miss her everyday. but also carrying around that i did have her. we did have her. her love. her humor. her faith. her silliness. her strength. she was mine and i hers. and that is the most joyous of all. so much joy. by @bethanylorang
