😅🔈My kids have very high standards…

They weren’t sure why I wasn’t winning the ASICS Bolt 5km. Apparently Wynne started to cry while spectating because the lead pack had pulled away from me.

Hopefully, my smile and finish showed them that I WAS DOING THE DAMN THING…and sometimes, that is more than enough. Showing up for hard things, on a big stage, when the odds are stacked against you is something to be proud of. And I hope that is what they remember. 🪦RIP playing it cool

💭A little social commentary on what it's like to be a woman, mother, older athlete, 'influencer' and all the other things.

❤️‍🔥 It's easy to feel judged in our 'too-muchness', but oh, what a tragedy it is when we force ourselves to be less.

🥤Not that everyone needs to see me in a bikini every day- but the amount of times I've sent a very normal photo to my friends saying 'Is this too thirsty to post?' (And I always deem it 'too thirsty') ..When it's just me doing heat training or hanging with friends .. often makes me think - 'I bet literallly zero men text this to their friends if it's just a photo of them doing a normal activity'.

✨I digress. I just hope that more strong women out there start showing themselves and the world that it's ok to be fast, loud, clumsy, hot, weird, hungry, serious, not-so-serious, ambitious, supportive, funny, independent, shiny, and YOU. by @bethgmckenzie

We caught up with @bethgmckenzie - elite level ultra marathon runner, the CEO of @wynrepublic , and a loving mother to her two daughters.

Living such a busy lifestyle, planning is extremely important to allow Beth to fit training, family time, work and recovery into each week.

Once my legs had recovered from the race, I took Luke on a Broken Arrow loop. We're not in Noosa anymore!

Crew meeting for @daniel.c.jones - 3x top 5 @wser finishes in the past three years meant things were dialed and we were ready for a big on!

Chilling in the ACG lounge awaiting Dan at Foresthill... ready to jump in and pace the next 18 miles.

Dan was in a rough spot, but got going out of Foresthill after a reset. I was so glad I was with him.

Cal street! Seeing this iconic section of the course was a dream, but it wasn't a dream day for Dan. He struggled with relentless gut issues as was forced to walk/hike/jog nearly the whole way. I had a front row seat to true grit and courage.

After an incredible week in Tahoe tor Broken Arrow, TrailCon & Western States, we've landed back on the east coast for some slow-down family time on the Sassafras River.

Running here is always a good challenge: Classic East Coast summer heat wave, zero hills, and no trails will make for a 'creative' block in the lead/up to OCC, but there are plenty of opportunities to get fitter.

I'm still processing the week that culminated in a record-breaking day at Western States. So many emotions in that experience and it was incredible to see the 'Kona' of the trail world. Yes, I (desperately) wish I had been on that start line, but I was able to compartmentalize it and truly just live in the moment for love of the sport. Each story of triumph and defeat was so special and moving- I'm more motivated than ever! More on that soon.

For now, you'll find me in the cornfields 🌽

My race day kit of choice for 46km and 9000 ft of climbing in the Sierra Nevadas at Broken Arrow Skyrace. All the pockets, all the white hot vibes. Time to get dirty!

⛰️Broken Arrow 46km - 10th 5:21 2630m+

❤️‍🔥As expected, I am still madly in love with the mountains, but they continue to play 'hard to get'.

⚡️But, I felt truly alive every step (even while simultaneously feeling like I might die) . How lucky are we to find our edges and suffer in a challenge of our own choosing?

💭I'm proud of myself for showing up and giving my all. I traveled across the world this week with my little Aussie beach lungs and raced some of the world's best mountain athletes (some half my age). I dug in, never gave up, and loved (almost) every step. Congrats to all of the incredible women up there today- what an absolute show!
