Only 15 days to go until First Date Festival 2026 officially starts - and only 15 days until our opening event with the one and only @betholearyauthor, on 24th April! Beth will be talking about her latest book THE NAME GAME. @lighthousebks and @bookloversbookshop are co-hosting the festival and this opening event at the beautiful @nicolson_square_venues

Beth O’Leary is the author of contemporary romance novels The Flatshare, The Switch, The No-Show, The Wake-Up Call, The Road Trip and Swept Away, and will be discussing her latest novel with debut author @rachelwouldnt of @rarebirdsbooks fame! Rachel’s debut contemporary romance ANNIE KNOWS EVERYTHING is officially published on 7th May, but we’ll have some sneaky copies ready for sale at the event.

It's publication day for The Name Game! 🥰

Two Charlie Joneses, lots of warmth and heart and yearning, and lotsss of surprises...

I'm out and about on tour at the moment so won't write a big gushy caption but I do just want to say thank you. I count myself SO lucky to get to write books for you, and every kind message I've had about this story already has genuinely meant so much to me. (Someone said my brain "needs to be studied" 😅 which I took as a compliment...?!)

This is a love story and a mystery and I hope it's a really fun read. But I hope this escapist island tale also quietly reminds you that whatever mistakes you've made, whatever you feel about yourself right now, you are worthy of love, and you deserve people who see you and love you ❤️
