❤️Eight years ago today, we lost this legend. He wasn't a world leader, or a celebrity, or a famous athlete. But he was ours, and he rocked our world.
❤️As a surprise to no one who knew him, his last act was a selfless one -- organ donation. Not gonna lie, he would have loved the gold medal we received posthumously from @trilliumgift. So, we share it on his behalf in the hopes it sparks your own family conversations about the importance of donation.
❤️Rick died before he was finished with life -- he was a golfer with more golf games to play; a father with more fathering to impart; a ham with more hamming up to do.
❤️At his funeral, we asked participants to add to our Wish Tree; to pledge how they could bring more Rick into the world. Their answers inspire us still. I hope they inspire you, too. by @beths.book

So you know that feeling when, after taking a course, you feel less smart than before you started? Yeah, that happened today 😂 Signed up for Mastering Voice in Fiction with @tiffanyyatesmartin. She was funny, smart and insightful. But her course reminded me, in the best way possible, that I still have so much to learn about writing my novel. The world is a little dimmer today with the death of @janegoodallinst. I had the amazing fortune to meet her and was mesmerized by her grace and strength. We talked a lot about hope -- she even inscribed a book for my son Drew who was dealing with health issues. Her belief in the power and persuasion of HOPE has stayed with me. So much so, I have named a character in my book in her honour :) by @beths.book

Super fun to visit @le9montreal this past week, a vibrant (and historical) resto that plays a pivotal role in my novel. Loved soaking up the ambiance with a cocktail, imagining my character doing the same. Here's to all our big dreams 🥂 by @beths.book

Been writing forever ~ started on this very Smith-Corona! ~ but never taken on a project as meaningful as this: A multigenerational novel about sisters torn apart by a devastating secret.
