The older I get, the more I appreciate friendships like this. Over 20 years of memories, a whole lot of life in between, and we’re still making new ones. Pretty lucky to have people in your life who knew you way back when and are still some of your favorites today. Love you long time, Heff! I was walking into the office yesterday when the Sorensen girls kidnapped me. 😂❤️ In their mom’s Bug. On her birthday. Our families were so close growing up, but I hadn’t seen most of them since I was probably 8. Then last week, on my dad’s birthday, we randomly found each other again at Mumford & Sons and shared one of those nights that felt almost spiritual, like maybe there was a bigger reason we were all there together. Fast forward a week and we’re cruising Front Street in their mom’s Bug, blasting Mumford, laughing, crying and talking about life, love, loss and everything in between. It’s all a little crazy and pretty special. An amazing mom, a family we’ve loved forever, and somehow a brand new sisterhood all these years later. Life is short. Get in the Bug. ❤️ taken in Traverse City, Michigan by @betsycorbett

The beauty of team sports. ❤️ So much of the good stuff happens outside the game. Loved having Caroline’s volleyball team over for their first team dinner and hopefully the first of many. by @betsycorbett

We closed on the Warehouse MRKT (144 Hall Street) yesterday.

I’ve always loved this property. The video is still one of my favorites we’ve ever made. But what I’ll remember most about this sale isn’t the building — it’s the people behind it.

More than a decade ago, when the Warehouse District was still becoming what it is today, Dan & Meridith Falconer took a risk. They invested in a place and an idea. They created something special, helped establish a foundation for this part of downtown, and contributed to an area that has only continued to grow and evolve around them.

They’re community builders in the truest sense. They invest in Traverse City, they put other people first, and they leave places better than they found them.

On a personal level, this building has always meant something to me too. When Betsy and I were considering moving to Traverse City, Warehouse MRKT was one of those places that made me think, there are cool things happening here. There were interesting spaces, creative people and a sense that this community was evolving into something really special. It was inspiring then, and it still is.

Commercial transactions can be a journey. This one took nearly a year, with long due diligence periods, plenty of ups and downs, disappointments, wins and a lot of trust along the way.

Betsy and I are incredibly grateful for that trust and proud to have played a small part in the transition of a place that has meant so much to this neighborhood and to Traverse City.

Most of all, we’re grateful for the friendship. Two exceptionally talented people, two close friends, and two human beings we genuinely look up to.

What a legacy. And what a privilege to be part of this chapter.

My Dad. ❤️ I grew up with a dad who made me believe I could do just about anything, and it’s taken me getting older to understand what a gift that really was. But even more than believing in me, he showed me what matters. Have faith. Love your family. Show up for your friends. Treat people well. Help when you can. Make people feel like they matter. Now that I’m raising my own kids, I realize how much of what I hope to pass along to them I first learned from him. Dad, I hope you know how deeply you are loved and how much of who I am was shaped by you. So much of the good in my life has your fingerprints on it. I think it always will. Happy Birthday! I can’t wait to celebrate with you tonight at Mumford and Sons.❤️ @bobbrick65 by @betsycorbett

A little Mackinac time with some really good people. 🤍

A few days to learn, laugh, connect and talk about what’s ahead. I left feeling really grateful for the people around us and excited about where we’re going.

There’s something pretty special about doing good work alongside people who genuinely root for each other. ❤️ @remaxbayshore taken in Mackinac Island, Michigan by @betsycorbett
