We’ve finished a few more projects I’m soooooo tempted to preview in the stories while I work on the reels… what do you think? Save it or preview it?

I know this has been a lot of work and time but I still can’t get over that we were quoted over $30,000 for these landscaping projects! 🤯🤯🤯

No we didn’t ask them to set up our trampoline… that probably would have been 2 grand though 🤪😜

Guys it’s day 7 on here but I’m thinking we’re actually at day 10 I just need to catch up my videos!

Who wants to stop working to make videos anyway?

Good news is we got the smaller side of the garden rid of juniper bushes!
Bad news is we have the big side to do and the digging of the small side still 🤪

We’ve started a few of the other projects in the landscaping too thigh because there’s only so much digging you can do before you go crazy and your one person starts to find you insufferable…. True story 😜

Dig Dig Dig!

Man!! We would never have paid $30,000 for this project to be done but goodness sakes it’s taking forever! It feels like every moment of our family’s free time we are outside working, which is truthfully not bad, but we are antsy to start enjoying our work together!

I do have the best team mates ever and am so thankful that we get to do this life together, because moving is lonely and right now we are really lonely here in SW Florida but we are not bored and we are just growing closer and in character while we work on the home God has blessed us to steward for this season!

Man! We have 10 more of these to get out and honestly the energy levels are running low!

We ordered a cheep-o Sawzall and it helped for sure but I’m really hoping we can find a more efficient way to remove these juniper bush root systems! They are very very very established and no joke! These have to be one of the main reasons the quote for this project was so outrageous??? Or Maybe we’re just completely ignorant on what’s to come still 🤷‍♀️

We’re still working! Go check my stories I promise stuff is moving along but we had family in town this past weekend so our work slowed.

This bench has become one of the coolest stories and sweetest memories for Chad and our family! Our kids call it “Grandma Sheila’s Bench” and truthfully sitting on it is the closest they will get to being with their grandma until the day we meet her in heaven!

The @cityofedmondok will always be home for Chad and so moving away 3 months ago was very emotional, but the fact that the city was so amazing to not only find this keepsake after they renovated Hafer Park Baseball Fields but to coordinate with Chads amazing friend to load this up and get it back to him will always be such a wonderful gesture of sympathy and kindness!

Moving this was never in question but the how was, it’s just so heavy! But now we are at the part I love, giving it a beautiful new home where new family memories can be made and quiet moments of stillness can be cherished!

This fire pit cost us $80!!! Granted we had the retaining wall blocks and the stones already, but even with purchasing those two supplies I know you could do a fire pit for under $150!

This clip was so fun to make! As a mom listening to my kids narrate about their daddy and see him as a super hero’s is the best! This truly was an incredible feat Chad undertook. We had this bench moved from Oklahoma to Florida and the moving company had to weigh it for creating purposes. It weighs 1,053 lbs!!!
We had 4 guys + me move it to the house in Oklahoma, and 7 I believe moved it into the yard here, so the fact that Chad could even pick it up slightly on his own is impressive! This took about 20 mins to get from one side of the little garden area to the other, and Chad’s forearms are still sore, but the memories the kids have watching their daddy be so strong will stick with them forever I’m sure! 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼

We actually did make good progress on Sunday after church…. Even with the multiple trips to the store 🤦‍♀️

Seeing this tree cleaned up and giving immediate gratification definitely gave us a boost of motivation we needed after all the “it’s gonna look worse before it looks better” projects 😜

Things are coming along, slowly and hot-ly, but good news is, we aren’t paying $30,000 to watch it look worse first, this is freely worse! 🤪

The journey of saving $30,000 continues and we’re getting a pretty good plan together for what we’re working towards landscape wise. We’re still in demo and clear out stages but getting to a clean slate is probably going to be the hardest part of this project! 💪🏼

Yall! I’m 2 days behind on posting, and I remember not feeling my body on this day… just finishing day 4, and I feel every part of my body and it’s in a very painful way!

Tomorrow, remind us to stretch before we start working, maybe do a warm up lap or something cuz dang, everything hurts! 🤪

Still worth it though! $30k is nothing to wince at, even if I remember that savings every step I timidly take 😜

If you’ve been in the stories you know I’m not exaggerating…. We live in an area where contractors tend to price gouge and assume they are the only option. But we are able bodied and just can’t justify that costs even if we did have $30k just laying around to burry in the dirt we just couldn’t do it.

So here we go, two of the worst gardeners you know trying to landscape in a climate we’ve never lived in before, with out breaking our backs…

Who knows what’s gonna happen here!

So my last caption I mentioned the budget for this, and you know I got a comment or two arguing price because we didn’t do the tile in the shower. But I didn’t feel the need to mention that the bathroom didn’t just need a face lift, it didn’t function! The shower didn’t get hot, and the water spit out instead of flowing how it should, and it leaked out of the side, the sink struggled to turn on and off and the toilet was literally non stop clogging, so sure the face lift wasn’t all that impressive without re tiling the shower, but we did do shower work including re caulking and filling missing grout, correcting the seal, and stain removal on top of all the new plumbing and fixed hardware issues. But needless to say, the true Reno happened behind all the glamor and it works really well!!!
