We are just over a week away from our next guest speaker: Breanne Trammell!!
Check out some of Breanne’s work:

1. Keep Yr Eye On the Donut - June 2–July 1, 2017. A solo exhibition at the Box Gallery in Akron, OH that playfully explores everyday life while also serving as a bold statement for art activism.

2. Cheetos in the Expanded Field - 2011. Site-specific installation at Mixed Greens featuring a silkscreened wallpaper, archival digital print, tape IKB cheeto vinyl, “You Are Just Like Your Dad” bookmark, organic cheeto cigarette, world’s largest friendship bracelet, and custom #2 pencil.

3. Life is a Highway - November 29, 2018. A solo exhibition with Mary Banas at Colpa Books & Video in San Francisco, featuring a collection of printed ephemera that uses graphic styles to reflect on the unrest of modern life, the idea of “freedom”, and the open road as a symbol of how we keep moving and growing as a community and individual.

4. Say it With Poochie - A vinyl sticker and booklet on subverting Poochie, an ephemeral 80s character “for girls”—to critique social injustices, the carceral state, and more.

5. Hey, How’s Life - A toilet paper protest piece against Donald Trump’s support of racism, misogyny, transphobia, and white supremacy. Printed with the text “It’s Terrific!” appropriated from a 1940s Citizen Kane ad.

6. TXTS IN THE AGE OF MECHANICAL REPRODUCTION - Letterpress printed quotes and thoughts sourced from Trammell’s twitter that they has been gathering since 2007.

7. I Can’t Give You Anything But Love - 2014. Print making project for the ZZ School Event at Plug Project based in Kansas City. Trammell was the “amateur excavator” where they found ephemera that highlighted Kansas City history.

8. High & Outside (No. 1) - 2017. Publication about sports, flowers, the outdoors, words.

9. The Joy of Enjoying - 2019. “Cook/book & Happening” with content they crowdsourced. Published by Temple University. Created using screen printing and risography in collaboration with Jesse Malmed

10. Hippies Modernism - Poster printmaking project with a focus on calls to action. by @better_together_press

Please join us on Thursday, May 22nd for the next Kemeny Lecture Series with Breanne Trammell!

Breanne Trammell (she/they) is an artist, educator, amateur archivist, nonmusician, and snack enthusiast. Rooted in printmaking but expansive in form, her work maps constellations of publics and ephemeral artifacts that explore site, memory, and the political and personal histories embedded within them. Breanne’s practice often manifests through playful interventions, publishing projects, and participatory events.

This event is in collaboration with Art Practice & Printmaking Studio at PSU.

Tickets are free and open for all! 🎟️ Link in bio

Shattuck Hall / Room 212
1914 SW Park Ave, Portland, OR 97201

The first ever @better_together_press newspaper! This was a term-long collaborative project in the Print Expanded class. This paper is filled with heart, labor, dreams, joy, jokes, and talent. Twenty-three artists put energy into this publication— working as one, printed with and for each other. It could of only happen together!!

You’re looking at is a snippet of an 11 page newspaper, printed front and back on newsprint. 44, 13”x14” laser cut wood blocks! 1320+ printed impressions! Made by very talented printmakers!

The full publication will be available to view @better_together_press in a week. taken in Portland State University by @better_together_press
