What does postpartum support really feel like? It feels like rest. Relief. Reassurance. Like having someone in your corner—who sees your needs, not just your to-do list.

Our postpartum doulas offer care that meets you right where you are, whether that’s holding baby so you can nap, prepping meals, supporting feeding, or just being a calm, steady presence. You were never meant to do this alone. 💛

“Why hire a doula?”
We get this question a lot—and the truth is, you deserve more than just clinical care during birth and postpartum.

A doula is a steady, trained presence who supports your physical, emotional, and mental well-being through every step of the journey.
From helping you feel confident in your choices to giving you the space to actually rest, our care is centered around you. 💛

Whether you're preparing for labor or settling in at home with your baby, we’re here to make sure you never feel like you have to do it alone.

Ever felt that sense of anxiety or dread creep in as the sun sets? You’re not alone. Many new parents experience the “bedtime scaries” or “sunset scaries” – a wave of fear, overwhelm, or unease as night approaches. It can feel heavy, especially during the postpartum period when exhaustion, uncertainty, and sleep deprivation take center stage.

Here are 5 things that may help ease the bedtime scaries:

1️⃣ Create a Simple Evening Routine: Familiar rhythms can calm your mind and help ease the transition into nighttime.

2️⃣ Tap into Your Support System: Text a friend or partner, or schedule regular check-ins with a postpartum doula. You don’t have to navigate the nights alone.

3️⃣ Plan for Rest, Not Just Sleep: Take pressure off yourself to get long stretches of sleep. Rest in small ways—like lying down or closing your eyes—even if sleep doesn’t come easily.

4️⃣ Prep for the Night During the Day: Keep snacks, water, and baby essentials nearby so you can minimize late-night scrambling.

5️⃣ Use Soothing Tools: Try calming sounds, gentle breathing exercises, or a mindfulness app to help ground you when the nighttime nerves arise.

The nights can feel long, but you are not alone in this experience—and these long nights won’t last forever. Be gentle with yourself. You’re doing an amazing job. ✨

What a wonderful time we had at the Minnesota Postpartum Wellness Fair! It was incredibly inspiring to be in a room full of driven, purposeful organizations and individuals who are deeply passionate about supporting families through parent readiness, postpartum care, and meaningful community resources.

We had so many meaningful conversations at our booth, and it was incredibly moving to see how inspired people were by our simulated NICU experience display. It created powerful opportunities for connection, awareness, and understanding surrounding the NICU journey. We were even blessed to have someone sponsor a Brave Box during the event — a beautiful reminder of the compassion and generosity that exists within our community.

I don’t take any small moment along this journey for granted. As we continue growing within Minnesota communities, these memories, conversations, and connections will mean so much to me — both now and in the future. Watching this mission continue to reach hearts and create impact is something I will always cherish.

A special shoutout to @swaddleandslay and The Colburn family for their incredible initiative and heart behind this event. They did a truly wonderful job creating such a supportive, impactful, and resource-filled environment for families and professionals alike. We were honored to be a part of it.

We are 1 in 5. We are some of the millions of women who have experienced prenatal or postpartum mental health issues like depression or anxiety. For many of our team, our personal survival of perinatal mental health struggles is what helped us find our path to becoming doulas—to serve other women with unwavering support in some of their most challenging times.

May 1-5 is Maternal Mental Health Week, and May is Maternal Mental Health Month. Will you join us in raising your hand if you’re 1 in 5, too? Tag us. Together, we can help eliminate the stigma around **the most common complication of pregnancy***. Help other women know they are not alone and there is hope.

There’s something wrong with this. Does this seem off to you?⠀
⠀
We believe women need to be checked on and cared for more than just once at 4-6 weeks post-birth. ⠀
⠀
Doulas are not medical professionals, but we *are* trained to help parents recognize what’s normal and what may not be normal when it comes to their mental and physical health. We are there for you and your family, for the days AFTER the big event of birth, when your new universe is taking shape.

Because that event is just as big, and deserves just as much attention.

“Sleep when the baby sleeps”…easier said than done, right? 🫠

But here’s the truth: those early weeks are a time of intense physical recovery and emotional adjustment. Your body is healing, your hormones are shifting, and you’re learning your baby’s rhythms hour by hour. Prioritizing rest—even short pockets of it—helps regulate mood, support milk production, stabilize your nervous system, and protect your overall well-being. 🌙

Try *reframing* rest as a necessary part of your postpartum care plan, not a luxury. A 20–30 minute nap or simply lying down awake but with closed eyes can make a meaningful difference. 💤

✨Remember: you don’t have to “earn” rest.✨

You deserve it because you’re healing, blooming into parenthood, and doing an extraordinary amount of invisible labor every single day. 🤱🏼💗

Did you find it hard to rest when your baby slept? Tell us in the comments! ⤵️

AI has its uses. But it will never be the boots on the ground that makes human connection. And human connection is vital to human thriving.

Postpartum doula care eliminates isolation, raises breastfeeding success rates, and diminishes postpartum anxiety and depression severity and occurrence rates.

Postpartum doula care means more sleep for parents, better nutrition for postpartum mothers, and higher confidence in new parents.

AI just can’t compete with that, and never will. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Have you experienced postpartum doula support? What questions do you have about it?
