🌺La Latina🌺

I had the honor of working on this project with my friend Bettina Delfin.
Bettina had a dream to bring her vision of paying homage to her Mexican heritage to life. This collection represents the beautiful and resilient Latina woman.

I could hear the excitement in Bettina’s voice as she was sharing her idea but, I also picked up a bit of concern that she wasn’t confident enough to pull it off. I’m so glad that she overcame her fear and dove right in.
I witnessed the dream in her heart come to life in front of my very eyes. So magical!

A few days later, as I was going through the images, one of them spoke to me. It was almost as if Bettina’s ancestors were coming through. I sent the first image in this post to my friend Rosario and asked her to write a poem based on what she was feeling from the image.
No time was wasted as Rosario picked up on Bettina’s energy and began to write.

Rosario’s poem in English and Spanish:

All those before me
supporting, gently nudging.
When I doubted myself In dreams, they showed me my resilience to become all I am meant to be.
