Went on a little Parisian 🇫🇷 adventure and will definitely need to be back ASAP. Started The Leona’s Series by Adrianna Herrera, and OMG, it was the perfect read on my trip!!!!!! Review coming eventually 🤣 I also attempted to read Tender Is the Flesh by Agustina Bazterrica, but had to set it aside because it was definitely not giving the romance I was tryna live 🙈 Anyways, it’s still Latine Heritage Month what are you reading?! by @between_the_sheets

I‘ve missed a few days of the #LHMBookstaChallenge2026
In this photo, you’ll see me gripping the essentials I can’t live without when reading Latine stories.

Got to kick off Latine Heritage Month by attending the release of Elizabeth Acevedo’s new book, Anger Is Only a Shadow. Hearing her read from the book and share insights into her creative process was truly inspiring.
I left feeling empowered to keep embracing my authentic self and pursue what brings me joy. This is a great way to segue into Day 2 of #LHMBookstaChallenge2026, which prompts us to share books that inspire us.
Swipe to see the stories that have moved me, challenged me, or sparked important emotions at different points in my journey here. Sharing these stories has also helped me recognize the importance of my growth over the past year and clarify what truly matters to me as I continue to evolve on my little book page. by @between_the_sheets

One thing about me is I’m gonna be a lil late, but I am coming for sure! I have been reading and will continue to read Latine books all year, but in honor of the first day of Latine Heritage Month, I’m sharing my September TBR Stack today 📚
I’m joining #lhmbookstachallenge2026 to pepper in great Latine stories all over the timeline because it’s never too late to start seasoning. by @between_the_sheets

Happy Latine Heritage Month! While we read Latine books all year, it’s beautiful to shine a bright spotlight as we celebrate our stories, nuestra cultura, and our community. Speaking of community, I am joining the #LHMBookstaChallenge2026 and following it as much as I can. Kicked off #LatineHeritageMonth right by attending the release of @acevedowrites Anger Is Only a Shadow with @between_the_sheets and @vivcat10 🇩🇴🇩🇴🇩🇴 at Goucher College. It was so powerful to hear Elizabeth speak. My poetry loving heart is soaring tonight. Getting to meet her was such a highlight. She’s peoples!!

📚💕Date with a book: Encore Edition
📖 Lost Between el Rio y el Mar
By: J.L. Lora
How we met 💌
We had a part one to this date that left me wanting more for sure!
First Impression 👀
Oh, it’s coming for my heart! The way Luna and Rio were right back on their bullshit, I was talking to my Kindle. These two are so hard headed! Luna was like holding a flower, going, "Me quiere y no me quiere." Like, girl, you know that man está aficiao! Why are you leading on his toxic ways 🤭
Chemistry check 🧪💞
You know when you are cooking, and the food is on the stove, nice and hot. Well, their stove was on fire; like, the whole thing was just one big flame that they both kept fanning! The way that Rio se comía a Luna y ella se dejaba comer 🤤, the spicy scenes were más caliente que un verano dominicano. The fact that Rio went from toxic to planning the perfect wedding and being a daddy 🙌🏾
I can’t swim, but it doesn’t stop me from being a sirena 🤭
Final thoughts 💭 As a person who loves to read love stories, Luna and Rio will forever be pulled into my conversations about when and how you fight for love. The meant-to-be hits so hard on this one because, as the reader, we are the vehicle that carries their love, and boy, are we taken for a ride 🚍 The way the love is woven into the music and the history of the main characters' country, the pride and patriotism. I am so proud of where I come from 🇩🇴. I learned things about music and deities I never knew. The consistent unmovable force that is Rios love. The authors beautiful at times almost poem like lyrics. The way the author moves seemlesly through the English and Spanish language without losing meaning or thought.
The love was represented everywhere not just in Luna and Rio. It was the love of a mother for her children and for others children. It was love for your cousin, for your brother and your sister. The words that Rio spoke to Tito in the end are some of my favorites in the book. If you are a lover of love; there is a love story for you in this book. by @between_the_sheets
