Creating awareness where it matters most! 💙🩸🇳🇬

Today, our Founder, Mrs. Josephine Olunaike, had the privilege of engaging medical personnel from the Army, Air Force, and Navy on strengthening Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) care through knowledge, empathy, and partnership.

The conversation went beyond medicine. We discussed what people living with SCD truly expect when they walk into a healthcare facility:
💙 To be heard.
💙 To have their pain believed.
💙 To be treated with dignity, empathy, and evidence-based care.

We also emphasized the critical role of our military healthcare teams in:
✅ Promoting genotype awareness.
✅ Encouraging early diagnosis and regular screening.
✅ Providing quality genetic counselling.
✅ Becoming champions of SCD awareness within their barracks and communities.
✅ Supporting families living with SCD through compassionate, patient-centred care.

Every informed healthcare professional becomes an advocate. Every conversation about genotype can prevent a future case of SCD. Every act of empathy can change a patient's experience.

Together, we can build a future where awareness leads to action, stigma gives way to understanding, and every warrior living with SCD receives the quality care they deserve.

Being a warrior is more than just pain, worries, insecurities, etc... Being a warrior also means that you have a community to trust and can rely on... Being a warrior also means looking out for one another and no foundation does this better than the @beulahcell .

A LIFE OF IMPACT CELEBRATING MRS. JOSEPHINE OLUNAIKE

Some people don’t just advocate for a cause, they dedicate their lives to creating hope for others.

As part of our “Celebrating 30 Warriors” campaign this Sickle Cell Awareness Month, Pearl Sickle Cell Initiative proudly celebrates Mrs. Josephine Olunaike, a passionate Sickle Cell Advocate, Supporter, and Voice of Hope, as well as the Founder of Beulah Sickle Cell Foundation.

Through her work and dedication, Mrs. Josephine continues to contribute to the sickle cell community, offering encouragement, creating awareness, and standing up for individuals and families navigating the realities of sickle cell disorder.

Her journey reminds us that true advocacy is about more than speaking it is about showing up, supporting others, and using your experiences and influence to make life better for someone else
