“AB+” for the Fresh Tracks Residency 2025-2026 at @nylivearts 🥊Freak Le Boom Boom🥊It’s truly been an honor to be a part of this cohort and I’m so proud of the work accomplished during these 9 long hard months 😭 I cannot believe how much was packed into those 17 minutes on the NYLA stage but I could not have done without the talents and brilliance of each of my collaborators! Baddies 5evr and evr 🔥Also Joshua helped created Bellami in their apartment because they are a genius and gorgeous and talented. Big shoutout to Jeanette for letting me borrow her basketball shorts lmao! “Freak Le Boom Boom” by Marina Gasolina @cssmusic remix “AB+” for the Fresh Tracks Residency 2025-2026 at @nylivearts 🩺The Examination Room🩺The way Christine brought her character to life and tried several iterations of an accent and Bev’s writing laying a strong foundation to stand on ANDDD Sarah workshopping physical examinations to add into the scene. Then Matt comes in with an idea to create beds of light to properly frame the piece? Like come onnnnnn!!! “AB+” for the Fresh Tracks Residency 2025-2026 at @nylivearts 💣SMOKE💣The first thing I thought was “we need a mosh pit”…when I tell you we all jumped at the opportunity to get rowdy on stage. Shoot-out to y’all for throwing me around, I was soooooooo tired at this point and my titty kept popping out! 🍒OH! …signal incoming…Welcome to the year 2200, where the elite retreat into their underground bunkers and leave everyone else behind to deal with the consequences of their greed. While some still hold on to the old ways, outside of the borders of New Ohio, people embrace experimentation, finding ways to live together that build a better future. Above Ground Radio is one of those experiments, taking back their power and using their sonic talents to eliminate the final structures of oppression. Over their broadcast the sound enthusiasts of ABG share scene reports, new finds, and offer hope found in the legacies of all the partiers who came before them. Above Ground Radio is an experimental music and performance series that uses science fiction storytelling to explore the legacies of the underground. In this episode, Sugar Hill Salon and Miss Beverly team up to explore frequency and how might our desire to tap into the right one survive into the future. This 1 hour immersive piece will be performed by Alexander Davis, Judette Ellington, KAYA, Miss Beverly, and Shara Ludon. Following the performance, audience members are invited to stay for an after party to celebrate with music selections provided by Tek Nena, Miss Beverly, and sinistare. by @bev.vega

The piece explores gender affirming health care as an act of initiation into a web of insurance claims, hoops to jump, and occasional acts of violence. A live cast of six, and two performers projected on a screen, move through ropes, engage in a fight, and cut themselves free to reveal the damages that come from what could be healing. Featuring performances by Sarah Esser, Joshua Leon Eguia, Angad Kalsi, Christine Shepard, Dahlia Qumhiyeh, and Bev Vega, AB+ features a sonic landscape devised of triphop, electronic music, and live commentating by two medical insurance providers. #lightingdesigner #dance #freshtracks #newyorklivearts #newwork by @bev.vega
