𝗕𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝗙𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗺𝗮𝗻’𝘀 meticulously crafted paintings and sculptures examine the medicalization of the human body and the aesthetics of the pharmaceutical industry. Working with high-gloss finishes and industrial materials such as urethane and wood, Fishman transforms the forms of pills, capsules and barcode patterns into vivid geometric abstractions. Her practice investigates the socio-cultural relationship between the desire for healing and the chemical infrastructures that shape contemporary life, positioning pharmaceuticals as both symbols of relief and systems of dependency. Fishman’s work has been exhibited internationally and is held in the permanent collections of institutions including the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, the High Museum of Art and the Cranbrook Art Museum. A recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship and the Anonymous Was a Woman Award, her work continues to challenge perceptions of color, care and consumption.

Fishman’s work is currently on view in 𝘾𝙝𝙧𝙤𝙢𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙘 𝙎𝙘𝙖𝙡𝙚𝙨 at PFA-Kensington, where it enters into a broader dialogue on color, materiality and abstraction. On view through July 11, 2026.
