Student Internship Highlight: Meet Bex Romer '27 (she/her), a senior Sustainability major with a focus in science communication and research.

This summer, Bex is interning with Global Treks and Adventures, studying geology and climate change in Reykjavík, Iceland. Through field research, interviews, and environmental observation, she's exploring how coastal erosion and seismic activity impact local communities and what those challenges may look like as the climate continues to change.

"Travel and environmental research are my passions. This internship allows me to merge the two."

Bex says her professors at Chatham have inspired her to stay curious and ambitious, helping prepare her for experiences like this one. Through the internship, she's gaining hands-on research experience while pursuing what she calls her dream career.

We're so proud of your accomplishments so far, Bex, and can't wait to see where your journey takes you next! 💜 taken in Reykjavik by @bex.romer
