Killing time turns 18 this weekend. Where do I begin. I cut my teeth djing in this place. I’ve met all my nearest and dearest friends here. I spent every Friday night there for 2 years for the first event series I ran. Spincycle started there as a little after hours in the back courtyard. I celebrated my 30th birthday there. I wouldn’t be where I am today without KT. Thank you @killingtimebarmelbourne / Cam for creating this space for us to play and gather together. You have created a space where I found my community and that is the most important and rarest of things in the music industry.

I just wanted to do a little @markambrose_skymaster appreciation post. I heard a few of his tracks getting a run on various stages throughout the weekend and it made me so happy to hear it. Lf 001, Zulu Groove - one of the all time classics (which Mark said they made in a matter of hours 🤯) and one of my personal favorites Vela - played by @cosmosmic (who’s set was one of my highlights). This is also the special place where we saw him play for the first time and connected with him for our first release on Spincycle.

It always amazes me when people have never heard of him, which was the case for quite a few people I spoke to over the weekend. If you don’t know him, I encourage you to check out his back catalogue. Mark has had such a profound impact on my music and I know this is the case for a lot of other people.

As you know making records is really expensive, so go and support him via his Bandcamp. He has most of his back catalogue on there. You can also purchase his release on our label to support this artist and repay him for all the gifts he’s given us.

Blurred Lines returns to the @collingwood_basement on Friday May 1st inviting Bex B2B Billus for an extended session (4+ hours).

Bex wears many hats, one half of the legendary party and record label Spincycle Records alongside Terri, the mind behind Spacecast, a non-profit platform connecting musicians and artists across events, activations, and online spaces; and a true mainstay of the local scene. Without a doubt, she’s one of the finest selectors around, with a rare ability to transport dancers into another dimensions through her sets piecing together all things deep, minimal and wonky from the golden era.

Billus, the man behind Bath Time, with a cult following in the local scene. Billus is known for his deep and delicate selections, moving people seamlessly through morning, day, and night at his own pace. One of the scene’s best selectors, he’s also been making waves in recent years as a producer, with releases on Animalia, Spincycle, and most recently, Vessel.

Together, we await a meeting of the minds for an extended session in the basement.

home end presents a night of extended sets in an intimate space ( @collingwood_basement ) with none other than one of Naarms pillars of the underground electronic music scene, Bex.

Bex is a veteran when it comes to digging the crates, with a deep affinity for 90s and early 2000s tech house and minimal. Her commitment to the sound has seen her play alongside artists such as DJ Masda, Onur Özer, Sugar Free, Eversines, Binh, Ingi Visions, Junki Inoue, Unai Trotti, and more. Bex is also the co-founder of Spincycle, alongside Robbie Ingram aka Terry, a label and event series that pushes the tech house and minimal sounds that originated in the UK and beyond, during the pivotal era of the late 90s and early 2000s.
