accidentally went all of 2025 without making a single post so here are some of its highlights (in April of 2026, sorry I’m late with this too lol). mostly includes kpop, my friends, new york, my lovely mom, my 30th birthday, and hannah bahng 💙

longer version now. My health has been getting worse every year. When they say chronic illness they really mean forever, huh?? It’s been incredibly painful, not only physically but mentally too. I am often sad and lonely because I have to constantly cancel on my friends and am forced to be incredibly slow to respond due to poor health. I’m constantly fighting my own body. I can’t do most things that people my age can. Sometimes it feels like nobody understands. I truthfully cannot tell you the last day I felt absolutely no pain. It’s honestly been the hardest thing I’ve experienced in my life. However, Ive really been trying to focus on the things that make me happy. Happiness looks a lot different to me now than it did before. Life is short and even though I have limitations, I still have to try. Finding beauty in the mundane has made it all the more fulfilling. I just wanted to thank everyone who has been there for me through this incredibly difficult time and I hope you can understand why I’m everywhere and nowhere at the same time.

TLDR/P.S.: I’m still here!! Even if it seems like I’m not, I’m just fighting with my body all the time sorry!!! I appreciate you all so much. Here’s to even more happiness throughout 2026 🎉

POTUS-Mortem ✌🏼😞

I have so many things I can say about this show, first being the cast and crew. This truly was my home and my family. We celebrated each other’s wins, comforted each other through our lows, and shared never ending laughter. I love you all so so much!

Secondly, my character Bernadette was the first time I (as an openly queer actor) was able to portray a queer character. There’s so much love and joy in this, it’s incredibly freeing! Everyone created a safe environment for me. And the text, bless Selina Fillinger (the playwright)! Do you know how refreshing it is to see two women in a romantic relationship and have it NOT written for the male gaze? A GENUINE relationship with an arc, so multi-dimensional. I’ll forever be grateful and intend to keep pursing and creating queer material just like this one. Another important thing was that our entire team was made up of women and non-binary folks alike. Getting that kind of team shouldn’t be rare, but I’m forever grateful for it.

Lastly, Tobie Barton and all of RLT. This was my first full production I’ve done since high school in my hometown. Not only that, but this was my first full play after my chronic illness diagnosis and numerous health struggles that are currently ongoing. I wasn’t sure how this was going to go, or if I could realistically ever do a play or full stage production again. Tobie took a chance on casting me and I’ll forever be grateful! Tobie, Riley, Nohemy, Mady, and all of RLT supported me every step of the way. Any challenges I faced, we faced together. Constantly working with me and being so accommodating. Without them, I never would have known I could do it. Your love and support mean so much to me.

I LOVE YOU POTUS CAST AND CREW!! I love every single one of you who came out to support or even supported us from afar!!! Thank you all!!!! taken in Reno Little Theater by @bex_schuster

RLT POTUS: (Non)Emergency 🚨 ! Paging Dr. Beat, POTUS continues TONIGHT!!! Limited tickets left for this weekend!

Does election season have you stressed? Do you want to get away with some entertainment that simultaneously has nothing AND everything to do with today’s current political climate? Do you wanna see the 7 women who should or should not be running the country, get into a series of hi-jinx that will have you crying from laughter? If you answered yes to any of the questions above, look no further than Reno Little Theater’s production of “POTUS: Or, Behind Every Great Dumbass Are Seven Women Trying to Keep Him Alive”. I personally adore having an outlet for real world shenanigans by letting loose in our fake world shenanigans. These badass women show just a glimpse into the lives of what very real badass women may or may not have to deal with everyday. Plus it’s just really funny!!!! Don’t miss out!

Our show continues this week September 26th-29th and closes October 10th-13th. In between is Reno Little Theater’s Production of “Support Group for Men”, October 3rd-6th and closes October 17th-20th. Tickets for both available in my bio! taken in Reno Little Theater by @bex_schuster

Being diagnosed with a chronic illness in my 20’s has completely flipped my life around. I can’t deny that it’s a lot more complicated now. I’ve spent the last few years adjusting to this completely new lifestyle and it’s always changing. I physically can’t handle as much and it makes me feel defeated. I have no way to describe it other than it feels like I’m sick every single day. I can’t do things the way that I used to and it’s really frustrating. On top of that, I can look perfectly fine on the outside while feeling excruciating pain on the inside. I see people my age doing more than I can ever hope to do anymore. But then I realized that I had felt some of these things way before my diagnosis, be it physically or mentally. We are constantly comparing our lives to others. So I try to be kinder to myself. To remember that everybody is on a different journey and everyone has walked a different path. Of course our lives aren’t the same, they could never be. I’ve spent a lot of time mourning the loss of things I can no longer do, but in that I’ve also found a lot more of the things that make me happy. I treasure life and happiness in a way I never have before. I don’t always feel positively about it and that’s okay too. I congratulate and applaud all of you for doing the best you’re able to every day. Just remember to try to be kinder to yourself. And please remember you are not alone 🩷

“If you love the mountains with blue skies above you…”

Sugarloaf 2023 is officially a WRAP! What a year! The lovely @ethethespian and I wrote the script for our kids this year and I couldn’t be more proud of them. It was such a personal piece for us that seeing the way our students resonated with the material was incredibly touching. I’m gonna miss the woods, the beautiful view of the stars, the sun peeking through the towering trees, and of course all the people I was able to experience this with 🩷

Side note: @teawasserman and I were always in the same cabin together as campers. We had a really touching moment during staff caroling night where we were looking at the kids standing outside of their cabin watching us sing and I leaned over to say “remember when that was us watching the staff?”. It’s so wonderful to be able to share these moments with people you’ve spent basically your whole life with. Love you, Teague 🖤 taken in Sugarloaf Fine Arts Camp by @bex_schuster

Hi friends! I wanted to publicly re-introduce myself and what better time than pride month?! 🏳️‍🌈

My name is Bex and my pronouns are she/they. I’ve thought it over for a long time and have decided to move forward in a sort of “re-brand”? Both in my personal and professional life. It took me a while to figure it out but Bex feels more authentic to me and I love that it’s gender neutral. I’ve gone by Becca for a while now, so I understand that people who have known me for a long time may have some difficulties changing it up. Even though it can be scary to share (especially in an LGBTQ+ state of emergency), I want to live as my truest and most authentic self no matter what. I also want to share and celebrate that with the people I love. My usernames across socials will or already have changed, so I wanted to clear up any confusion there. I’ve had a hard time introducing this to people I’ve known for a while, so I’m sharing it here publicly with some selfies, yay!! 🥳

TLDR: Hi, my name is Bex Schuster and my pronouns are she/they taken in Los Angeles, California by @bex_schuster

Some reflections on chronic illness (TLDR at end):

Having a chronic illness is so incredibly tiring. One thing I wasn’t really prepared for was how isolating it can be. I’ve seen every kind of specialist and have done multiple types of treatments, often by myself. I struggle with bad days more often than the good days, health wise. I have to cancel plans frequently. It’s hard not to feel like I’m letting down the people around me. I just have no idea how I’m going to feel until I wake up in the morning. I feel that my complaining gets repetitive, and that no one wants to hear how sick I am over and over again.

All of these are imaginary pressures I’ve put on myself. No one has directly said any of these things to me, so I can’t say that any of it is true. I need to give myself the grace that others have shown me and understand that this is a part of the learning curve with illness. I’m learning my limitations. I’m learning how to balance poor health while still living a fulfilling life. I’m learning how to cope with the fact that I will never get better and that my life is very different than what it was before I got sick.

I wanted to share this in case there was anyone out there who felt similarly. I wanted to let you know you’re not alone. Your pain and struggles are valid. Please remember to be extra kind to yourself (I’m working on that part too). It’s incredibly challenging, but I know I’m doing the absolute best I can do. And that’s all anyone could ask for.

TLDR: Chronic illness is tiring but, I’m learning how to be kinder to myself when tackling the challenges I will continue to face.
