Hello everyone! I'm Becky, but everyone calls me Bexy. I'm 36, Scottish and live in the Netherlands! 🧡 I run a home bakery business @bexybites, as well as stream games on Twitch (which I've been doing for over a decade). Can you tell what my favourite games are? 👀

In 2026, I also started my new BookTube channel over on Youtube. From reading vlogs to monthly wrap-ups. It has been a joy, and I really look forward to creating more videos in the future!! 🥰

As for my favourite types of books, my favourite genres are romance, fantasy and thriller in all forms. My favourite author is the queen, V.E. Schwab. I also enjoy reading not only paperback and hardback books, but also via my Kindle and audiobooks.

I'm really excited to make new bookish friends this year and look forward to sharing my love for books 🥰📚✨️

How I Rate my Books 1 - 5⭐️

I figured this would be a fun post to share! Since I feel that I tend to rate ALOT of books super high. I'm not ever really super strict when it comes to my ratings. But these are usually my thoughts when I rate!

1 - 1 ½ ⭐️ = eh.. A book I wish I didn't read. These books will be ones I'll never recommend.

2 - 2½⭐️ =Not the best. Finished it, but didn't fully enjoy it for multiple different reasons.

3 - 3½⭐️ = It was fine. Even though I enjoyed myself, I would probably never re-read.

4 - 4½⭐️ = Really good! I had an amazing time reading. Will highly recommend most books in this category!

5⭐️ = THE BEST. Books rated a 5 are perfection to me. I couldn't fault anything major. They also tend to make me emotional. I will ALWAYS recommend these books!!

Hello lovelies ❤️

Been pretty MIA here over the past little while. Because I was trying to deny the fact I was, infact, experiencing a reading slump. Not only that, but also a super bad social media slump. This not only affected me posting here, but also posting on my work Bakery social media.

That.. has not been great.

But I have now accepted the fact that THIS is what I'm experiencing, so I'm just letting myself let it happen. And that's good. Think lots have affected me, and my mental health took a dump.

I do hope to at least start posting again in the near future. But just know I am fine, I'm here and miss you all. ❤️

3rd times a charm? 🫢 Instagram please.. 😬

It has felt really good having a proper break! Even before my holiday back to Scotland, I felt like I was going non-stop. Was good to step away and chill. 😍

Even then, during my holiday, I only managed to read a little. Mostly working on audiobooks but when the chance occurred, I really enjoyed reading Kilt Trip! Very fitting book, considering I was going on tour excursions. 🤭 And getting to read this while at Soderberg was even better!

When you read on holiday, do you match the book to the location? ❤️

Will slowly start posting more when I can. I've missed you all! 🥰❤️

Yes, Chef mini review! 👩‍🍳📚

Thank you to the Libro Influencer Program for access to this wonderful book! 🥰

I went into this one pretty blind, although I had seen people posting about it. Guys, this is another GREAT book with ADHD representation! And the kind that doesn’t go over the top. I absolutely adored my time listening to Yes, Chef! It made me so happy. ❤️

The overall story of Yes, Che! follows two main characters. After a breakdown at the restaurant where he works, Jack Hartman travels back home to Florida. There, he hopes to restore what was once a well-loved restaurant from his childhood.

One thing Jack doesn’t expect is for his ex-boss’s beautiful but irritating daughter, Poppy Winfield, to show up. Poppy decides to travel to Florida to find Jack and help him. With her social media influencer knowledge, Poppy knows she has what it takes to put Jack’s new restaurant on the map. If she succeeds, she knows she’ll finally get the approval of her father, a man who is well known in the culinary world.

The only question is, will Jack and Poppy be able to work together without fighting, or will their simmering feelings boil over? 👀

Honestly, I loved the characters in this book. The main characters, Jack and Poppy, both of whom have ADHD, were incredible. What I adored was seeing the different “sorts” of ADHD representation. Jack is super focused and feels completely at ease when he’s honing in on his cooking, while Poppy is a hurricane — clumsy, a little aloof, and all over the place.
Just like me, haha. 😂

Yes, Chef really scored high in my books because of this. The chemistry between them was also absolutely thrilling! I also loved seeing all the other characters throughout the book, and I really hope we get to come back to this world in the future!

Overall, a fantastic romantic read, filled with emotions, laughter, joy and sadness — but all wrapped up in a lovely bow and finished with the perfect chef’s kiss! Literally👩‍🍳💋

Mid-year review! Favourite books so far~

This year has been a rollercoaster, where some months I managed to read loads, while others (more recently) have been slow. This is a real reflection on how busy I get during the warmer summer days! ☀️

So far, my ABSOLUTELY FAVOURITE has of course been Highland Hideaway! This book now lives in my mind rent-free 🥰

Started doing a dual read and audio of this exciting book! Silvercloak by LK Steven. Been really looking forward to this one ever since buying this hardcover.

Was wanting to do something a bit more fantasy, and this one fit the bill!
