MEET BIANCA: “Hey everyone, my name is Bianca. I’m trom the best borough of New York City - Queens represent (jk we’ll see about representing after the class. In all seriousness, I’ve been dancing for around 4 years since l moved to the DMV. I danced in a few teams/ project groups such UEDC, Culture Shock DC, Project Alma and Femmeology. I’m currently in Hyperspace Command Force. I’m so excited to teach my first class ever. It’ll be a push for myself but I’m hoping it will be for others. Come dance with me and just have fun silly.”

MEET GABBY: “Heyo! My name is Gabby, and I’m a dancer from Crofton, MD. I was introduced to dance at 4 years old, but my dance journey truly began in late 2019 as a k-pop cover dancer. Since joining the DMV dance community in early 2023, I’ve had the opportunity to dance and train with various teams and project groups, including Risk Dance, Major Definition, CSDC’s Choreography and Freestyle Teams, Sho Off Nation, Project Wave, Dancing Girlz, Pocket Monsters, and Alter Ego. I also founded and directed my own project group, G.Force, earlier this year. I’m currently training at TDC Dance Studio and I am excited to serve as one of the captains of capital Funk for the 2026-2027 season! As a dancer, I like to explore different musicalities and movements while dancing with intention and full energy. I’m looking forward to danci by @beyancatu

I present to you my first ✨choreography 💫 - something that I never thought I’d say or do. Even if I didn’t like my choreo, I would still have posted it because it’s a big achievement for me.

I started dance back in 2015 and after 1.5 years, I gave up. I was frustrated at myself for lack of growth. Every time after class, I would feel like a failure and embarrassment for messing up choreography. I was scared because I thought everyone else was at an untouchable level and they would judge me for the lack of training, technique, my body, etc.

After a 7 year hiatus and life changes, I decided to muster up the courage to step into a class. Although I still messed up, I wasn’t fixated on my mistakes. I was just really happy to be in high energy, creative environment again. I missed taking classes and dancing with people.

August 2023-2024 so far has been truly a transformative year. Thank you @jenncheyenn and @brixovo (first class I took in 7 years) for recognizing my strengths when I didn’t see them and giving me the encouragement to push past my self-doubt. Never thought I would have to opportunity to be on a dance team, perform in videos and showcases. Y’all are huge influence in the way that I dance today. Thank you to all the teachers I took in the DMV and NYC including @gabrielleodom_, @manuelcresv, @xo_rozayy, just to name a few, for sharing your knowledge and craft. I try to draw from your lessons when I dance to focus on footwork, textures, level changes, etc. Shoutout to @urbanempiredc folks who have quickly become my friends and fam. I appreciate and love every single one of you! And shoutout to my friends and sis back in NYC who Id bother the shit out of with my draft videos.

I still have so much to learn and improve on! I’m always open to any feedback. I hope to showcase more of my growth in the near future.
