This is something I have been dreaming about for a long time. 🖤

Beyond the Surface is a podcast, a community platform and a movement celebrating the incredible humans doing kind things all around us.
Real people. Real stories. Real impact.

Coming soon to Melbourne's west. 🎙️

Beyond the Surface is a new @westsiderradio podcast shining a light on the volunteers, community workers, organisations and everyday people quietly making a difference across Melbourne’s west. ❤️📻

The first episode features host Muffy chatting to Fay Salem-Demezieres from @westwelcomewagon about their volunteer work supporting refugees and asylum seekers.

More stories of local kindness and community connection to come, but for now, the podcast's message is simple: let’s celebrate "cool people doing good things". 😊

Flash back to the Gather for Good event by @localimpactorg.

A gathering of for purpose businesses, not-for-profit organisations, volunteers and charitable organisations and their collaborators (Under One Roof) it was an incredibly beautiful experience to be a part of.

A Spectacular display of kindness, collaboration, education and future planning.

Looking forward to hosting some of these attendees on the podcast airing on @westsiderradio by @beyond.d.surface

I had the absolute pleasure of interviewing Jason about starting @footscray_friends_dining.
His Facebook group is 900 member strong and growing.

What an honour it then was to attend the August dinner event @barthyme, Footscray. A table full, some strangers who didn't stay strangers for long. Different ages, different life stages, but everyone showed up for real connection over great food, belly laughs and wisdom shared through other people's stories.

Toasts to achievements, toasts to what's still to come. Congratulations Jason, on building something Footscray, and the west, really needed.

Keep an eye and an ear out on our platforms for when the episode with Jason drops @westsiderradio

A little snippet of episode two. So refreshing to chat to fay so openly.

I asked her if she would change anything in her past. Fay: "I wouldn't change anything, all of my experiences made me who iam today."

such a beautiful take away.

Tune in tomorrow ❤️

Back by popular demand, Fay is back 🎙️ Episode two of Beyond the Surface is almost here.

This time we go deeper into her upbringing, what it was like growing up ethnic in Australia and constantly trying to find where she fit in. Honestly, some of it hit close to home for me too. And even back then, you could see the rebellious streak in her, it was there from day one. We love a gentle rebel ❤️

Big shout out to @highteesaustralia for the incredible Multiculturalist tee Fay is wearing in this episode, it says everything.

Press play and get to know @salemdemezieres on a whole new level.

"The people who show up quietly are usually the ones holding everything together."

Not everyone, but some. The ones who turn up without needing to be asked, who hold space without making it about them. We see you.

Thank you for showing up. ❤️
