This September, we were so happy to welcome our Rewards members into our Falmouth and Padstow shops for two special evenings of visible mending, hosted by the wonderful Jess from Beyond Repair 🧶

There was plenty of great conversation, creativity and learning as we discovered new ways to give well-loved pieces another life.

We are ready for a bit more routine post summer juggle here in the workshop!

Plus this week we welcome back our amazing sewist @elizabethalice_fashion to the fold after a summer travelling Europe with her family! She’s about to start her third and final year @falmouth_fti so wish her luck 🍀 You can find her smily face her on Saturdays.

Ad | A little evening in Padstow, learning something completely new 🪡✨

I was invited by @seasaltcornwall to join Jess from @beyond_repair_workshop for a repair workshop and it was honestly such a wholesome evening. Lots of chit-chat, plenty of experimenting and, most importantly, learning that a hole in your favourite clothes doesn’t have to mean the end of them.

In my case, the holes were courtesy of my rabbits 🐰😂 but I can now sew them back to life or give them a new personality rather than sending them to the bin!

A new skill unlocked and a much-loved piece given a second chance… I’ll call that a win ♻️🥳

Back in the workshop and back sewing away.

After a glorious few weeks off the machine, it’s back to the studio and back to work. Feeling lucky to have gotten lots of enquiries whilst off so slowly getting through those and getting things organised ready to get back in the flow!

We’re not the full team yet and I still have little ones off school so I’ll be here Tuesdays and Fridays 10-6pm until mid September.

Taking a good old summer break over here at the workshop this year. If you’ve just found our page this is what you need to know…

- we repair all sorts of clothes from our tiny studio in Old Brewery Yard, Falmouth. Lots of denim, lots of zips and lots of knitwear - visible and subtle repair 🪡

- we are closed until mid august. If you have a garment waiting and need a nudge this is your cue to sign up to our email list to get a little nudge when we are back. Link in bio 🔗

- we’ve got an exciting pop up happening in our workshop for the first two weeks of August! We invited @ringrose_fabric to come sell her wares as we miss her Falmouth shop loads. Come find Mati, her team and their mega vintage gems.

@beyond_repair_workshop has let us use her space in the old brewery courtyard for two weeks from the 1st of August. I'll be hosting a little wee party for opening on the 31st of July at 6pm onwards so I would love to see you there! There will be smocks, vintage, and of course out viral March trousers!! Workshop camera roll this week 🤳

Loads of vintage bits mended, a new front door that is fitted and in use (just a little bit more painting to do), loads of very varied repairs 🙃🙃, new curtains and loving our home in the yard more each day!

It’s summer already pals 🌞🌞🌞

We’ll be closing up the books again this year for a couple of weeks, giving us chance to catch up and clear the decks before turning off for a couple of weeks or so at the beginning of the school hols.

Last chance to get mending work to the workshop is Monday 6th July 10-4pm. We’ll be back and ready for more repairs sometime in August TBC!
