Exploring the island. Tripitos Arch - had the most spectacular views of the southern west coast. We looked so tiny on the arch itself. Watched the glorious melting of the sun into the horizon at Erimitis Beach . Incredible sunset. Pretty perfect place to be alive. 🩵🫶🇬🇷🇬🇷 by @beyond_the_snowglobe

The perfect Greek island to chill. Antipaxos and the stunning white sandy beaches of Vrika and Voutoumi. The water is crystal clear and so so blue. Took a little climb down the mountain to Erimitis Beach on the main island of Paxos.. also incredibly pristine, calm and simply stunning. taken in Paxos & Antipaxos Island, Greece by @beyond_the_snowglobe

Mont Saint Michel in Normandy France. A very beautiful, imposing Abbey and village built upon surrounding quick-sand, tidal marshes. It is one of the most visited places in France and this became very evident as the day progressed. In many ways the throngs of tourists have ruined the sanctity of this incredible place. taken in Mont Saint Michel, Normandy, France by @beyond_the_snowglobe

We met our Jessie Brook on Monday at Rennes airport and headed west to the gorgeous seaside village of Cancale in the Brittany region. All of us have read and loved the book ‘All the Light We Cannot See’ and were very excited to explore the beautiful, fortified city of Saint Malo. It was once a ‘pirate city’ for privateers and known for its formidable ramparts. It was almost completely reduced to rubble with bombing in WW11, but has since been meticulously rebuilt in its original Gothic and Romanesque style of architecture. We also bought some beautiful butter. It was amazing! 🩵🏰 taken in Saint-Malo, Bretagne, France by @beyond_the_snowglobe

Decided to run to the quaint village of Talloires ( Soph and I had cycled there 10 years ago…) It was a little further than I had remembered and it turns out that I needed cash to return on the bus ( which I did not have on me , only my card ) … Lucky I didn’t need to be anywhere in a hurry and could enjoy my journey through the villages below the alpes… It was a 26.5km round trip. The hamstrings were not happy! So worth the adventure though. A few more photos of Annecy taken in the afternoon. 🩵🌸🦋 taken in Talloires Lac Annecy by @beyond_the_snowglobe

About an hour northeast of Annecy is the Medieval village of Yvoire. It is situated on the French side of Lake Geneva/Lac Leman and is part of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of the Haute-Savoie. The village was fortified in the 14th Century. It is a member of the ‘Most Beautiful Villages in France’ association. The views over the lake are sublime and there are flowers everywhere. Within the village is the beautiful ‘Jardin des Cinq sens ‘ The Garden of Five Senses’… so much to see, smell, taste, feel and hear in this peaceful place. There were apple trees all through the garden, but unfortunately they were not for eating. Definitely worth a visit… especially early in the morning. 🦋 taken in Yvoire, Rhone-Alpes, France by @beyond_the_snowglobe

10 years ago Soph and I took a little trip to Lake Annecy Fr. and I always knew I would return one day. Yesterday afternoon I arrived mid storm and soaked through. The aftermath was pretty spectacular though… and totally worth every drop of rain. Such a special place. 🩵🫶 @annecylac @lac_annecy_tourisme @visitannecy #rainbow #lake taken in Lac d'Annecy by @beyond_the_snowglobe
