It’s been BUSY in the Beyond office with lots of interviews happening for summer 2027 and we couldn’t be more thrilled to announce our first hire of the season to step into the crucial Lead Team role of Base Camp Coordinator: Sadie Jo!!

Final Beyond Trips complete for Summer 2026!

To wrap up this summer’s adventures, five groups of people from all over the United States made their way to Beyond for an unforgettable week in the mountains. These friends ranged from Young Life College groups, to high schoolers, and even a men’s trip!

Campers, leaders, and guides returned to Basecamp overflowing with the joy of the Lord after their week together, and sharing countless testimonies of how He moved through the both the profound and the simple moments on trail.

A Final Farewell
It is our hope and prayer that these trips go home in peace and never forget how they encountered Jesus on trail this week. Please join us in praying that the conversations would continue, and that their love for God would grow as they remember their time in the mountains this summer. Would they know that their lives hold great purpose!

As the 2026 Beyond Malibu camping season comes to a close, we are so thankful for each and every person who chose to spend even a moment of it with us! Proud is an understatement for the obstacles, challenges, and discomforts that they overcame by the strength of the Lord inside them. We pray it has blessed them, as it has surely blessed us getting to be apart of it. Thank you, God, for another incredible summer!

Final Paddles on the Jervis
This past week wrapped up the final trips of Sea Kayaking at Beyond Malibu for 2026! What a special last week it was. A family chose to embark on this journey together, making so many fun memories and laughing the whole way. The Lord provided such beautiful weather and calm waters to carry them along their trek this week. Some wildlife sightings of course included lots of seals, and even a couple of black bears walking along the shore in the distance! They also soaked in the beauty of their campsites, the skies, and Chatterbox Falls together.

Mountain Week 7!
Scaling the Mountains
Our second to last week of mountain trips were full of excitement with groups from all over the state of Washington, as well as groups from Idaho and Florida, and a family from Maryland! They experienced a week of encountering the Lord in His creation while exploring Albert, JJ, Pearkes, and Long Pearkes mountain trails!

A common theme amidst all of the intertwining of different personalities and backgrounds was joy, laughter, and a newfound unity for those who started as strangers, and ended as true friends. These friends came back grateful for and blessed by the opportunity to learn alongside those on different walks of faith than them, finding deeper vulnerability in diversity.

Week 6 of Mountain Trips: Courage Amidst Storms
This week the staff at Beyond Malibu had the honor and privilege of sending out four wonderful trips of campers from Washington, Oregon, and New Jersey! Some groups had known each other their whole lives, while some came together for the first time, all embracing new depths of vulnerability and truly finding out what it means to live in community, build each other up, and carry each others burdens.

These groups showed extraordinary humility and courage, as the first three days were full of incredibly challenging weather conditions. They navigated through wind and rain, learning to surrender their fears and trust that the God who holds the whole universe, holds them also. One trip leader expressed how he was unsuspectingly pushed completely out of his comfort zone in a way that caused him to trust entirely on the Lord and lean on those around him, pushing him to new depths in his faith.
