Congratulations to Dr. Katiana Hernandez, founder of Beyond the Scale Therapy, on achieving this incredible milestone! 🤍🎓

After years of dedication, countless hours of studying, earning two master’s degrees, completing hospital rotations, gaining clinical experience in inpatient and residential eating disorder treatment, and completing her doctoral internship in neuropsychological assessment and working with patients living with dementia… she has officially earned her doctorate!

Behind this achievement are years of hard work, sacrifice, personal growth, and an unwavering commitment to helping others.

From student to clinician, business owner, and now Doctor of Psychology.

What a journey. And this is only the beginning. 🤍

El proceso de diagnóstico del autismo puede ser emocionalmente agotador para toda la familia. Y muchas veces, lo más difícil no es recibir el diagnóstico, sino todo lo que viene antes y después.

Las largas listas de espera para una evaluación, las dificultades para acceder a servicios y el no saber por dónde comenzar pueden hacer que muchas familias se sientan frustradas y solas en el proceso.

Meet the newest member of the Beyond the Scale Therapy team, Keren Santiago 🤍 we are so happy to have her join us.

Keren Santiago is joining us as a Postdoctoral Clinician, providing individual therapy and neuropsychological testing in both English and Spanish.

Her training in neuropsychology is also helping us expand the services we offer at Beyond the Scale, including IQ and diagnostic testing, while continuing our commitment to thoughtful, individualized care.

She completed training in Puerto Rico and Orlando, Florida, and also brings experience working with trauma.

And because therapy with us can include being human, too… you may find her sharing a cafecito ☕️ (or tea 🫖) with you during an in-person session at our office, or meeting with you via telehealth.

We are so grateful to have her joining our team and to continue expanding the ways we can support our community en español y en inglés. 🤍

Fun facts about soon-to-be Dr. Kati 🤎

She has two master’s degrees in psychology and mental health counseling
and is 4 months away from earning her doctorate.

If you ask her how she did it…
she might say, “lots of cafecito ☕️”
and “a whole lot of support from my family.”

And yes..that’s true.

But the real answer?

Leading a practice with love, integrity, and ethics.
Serving families.
Showing up even on the hard days.

✨ Meet Maggie!

We’re excited to welcome Maggie to our team as a Postdoctoral Fellow, starting this August!

Maggie specializes in the treatment of eating disorders and provides comprehensive psychological evaluations for school placement, ADHD, autism, and other developmental disorders. She takes a collaborative, family-centered approach — bringing the whole family into the process to ensure meaningful, lasting support.

We’ve been busy over here! Here’s Kati recording a video about eating disorders and how to support your teenager going through one.

The first step is finding the right medical team and a therapist specifically trained in eating disorders.

Our team includes two doctoral-level clinicians specializing in eating disorders, along with an external team dedicated to providing a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach.
