EXPERIENCE PROGRAM, BEYOUNG THE GATES🔥 We have expanded the BeYoung the Gates program this year! 🔥MEET&GREET: MAURICIO WEIMAR🔥 Meet Brazilian–Norwegian metal drummer and multi-instrumentalist Mauricio Weimar. Talk drumming, ask questions and have records or other items signed. 🔥BEYOND THE SCREAM: GROWING UP IN THE SCENE TODAY🔥 This panel features young voices sharing what it’s like to grow up in the metal scene today, driven by a shared passion to shape and carry forth the future of metal. The panel: Oda (panelist), 34, born and raised in Florø. During her youth in the 2000s, there were not many female metal vocalists. Those who inspired her to play in a band were mainly male-dominated groups, but also bands like Kittie, Otep, Animal Alpha, and L7. In Florø, she was a vocalist in a metal band, and founding member of Utflod. Viktor (panelist) is a young musician and organizer in Reykjavík. He has been active in the scene since 2017, including playing in countless bands. He’s most known as the bassist and frontman in FORSMÁN. And, he also co-organizes Icelands oldest metal festival, Andkristni. Mirko (panelist) is 19 years ola and from Serbia. He has played the guitar for 12 years, and is currently the frontman and lead guitarist of Dreadmaw, a band which he started with his friend from middle school after coming to Norway. Jessica (moderator) is a music PR specialist and founder of Future Cult PR, with 20 years of experience spanning both sides of the industry - as an artist and a publicist. She spent 7 years as Head of PR at Season of Mist’s EU office, working with artists such as Heilung, Abbath and Rotting Christ. 🔥MARKET🔥 Kosa “Churchscythe”🔥 Get your own tattoo or illustration painted on you. Give Music A Chance🔥 A non-profit organization that collects, repairs, and lends out used instruments and equipment; with rehearsal spaces and workshops; creating free, meeting places for young people. A big thank you to @fanasparebank for supporting the next generation of metalheads and the BeYoung The Gates project🔥 We're exited to organize BeYoung the Gates as part of the festival for the 3rd year in a row, where we're showcaseing young talents from the Norway, while making it available to everyone. Having a stage for the younger bands, and creating a place for younger metalheads to meet is something we see as important for the scene, and we're lucky to have a handful of organizations supporting us in this mission! Thank you to @fanasparebank , @sparebankennorgestotter , @bergen.kommune, @vestlandfylke , @kulturdir / Kulturrådet and @musikkensstudieforbund . Photos by @jarlehm by @beyoungthegates
Give Darkness A Chance is back!
BEYOUNG THE GATES 2026 🔥 BeYoung the Gates is back for the 3rd year in a row! A proper kick-start of an opener for the last day of the festival🔥 At BeYong the Gates, we want to showcase young talent from the region, and make it available to everyone. So this is a free entry, all ages event. Here’s the full line-up for BeYoung the Gates; 🔥 @dreadmaw_band 🔥 High energy death-thrash from Bergen. They are currently working on their debut album, and have made some of their demos available for free on Bandcamp, under an EP titled «KICKASS METALLIC MUSIC FOR YOUR AUNT». Keep an eye out on their profile for more music coming. 🔥 @contorted_band 🔥 Death metal from Bergen, newly signed to Bergen label Dark Essence Records. This is new wave of old school death metal, exploring other genres of metal while keeping the rotten old school sound - brutal, intense and a punch to the guts, just how we like it. Check out their EP and lates single, available on all digital platforms. 🔥 @angellofficial_nor 🔥 Blackened death solo project from Telemark. This 18-year old multi-instrumentalist blends blackened death metal with melodic and progressive elements. His debut EP was released last year (available everywhere), and new music is on the way. He’s currently getting ready to tour Norway this year, including gigs at the Inferno Festival, Tons of Rock and BeYoung the Gates. BeYoung the Gates is supported by Bergen Kommune, Vestland Fylkeskommune and Kulturdirektoratet. Logo by @matgrygo 🔥 by @beyoungthegates
