POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
This is what ten years of international music management actually looks like, not a course, not a theory, not advice from someone who once wanted this and moved on, but active ongoing work with real artists in real situations across Munich, London, and Los Angeles.

I started this account and built Legacy Music Academy because the gap between what most independent musicians know and what they need to know is almost never about talent, it is almost always about access, and I decided the information I use every day in management should just be available rather than locked away.

Three ways to work with me depending on where you are right now. The free roadmap covers everything you need to know about releasing properly and building income, comment ROADMAP and I will send it immediately. The free feedback form in my bio gets you a personal voice message from me about your specific situation. And the academy is sixteen weeks of structured work for the musician who has already decided they are serious.

Start wherever makes sense. Everything here is built for independent musicians who want to make this real.

Hi, I’m Christina and if you’re new here, welcome. ✨

I’m an international artist manager, coach, mentor and the founder of the Legacy Music Academy.

But more importantly: I believe talented musicians deserve to know how this industry actually works.

Because making great music is only one part of building a career.

You also need to know how to find your identity, build an audience, release your music, market yourself, get booked, create opportunities, and keep going when it feels like everyone else is ten steps ahead of you.

I’ve spent more than 10 years working in international music management, supporting artists at very different stages of their careers, and today I bring everything I’ve learned into Be Your Own Star.

Here you get:
- No gatekeeping.
- No waiting around to be “discovered.”
- No pretending there’s one magical formula that works for everyone.

I want you to understand the business well enough to make your own decisions, build something that actually feels like you, and create a music career that can last.

That’s also why I created the Legacy Music Academy, and why I continue working directly inside the industry as an artist manager, as well as an official coach & jury member at Tour Music Fest.

And yes… my playlists still go from meditation mantras to absolute chaos in approximately three seconds. 😂

If you’re a musician building your career right now, tell me where you are in your journey in the comments.

Just starting? Releasing music? Playing shows? Trying to finally make this your full-time career?

I’d genuinely love to know who’s here. 🤍

Oh yes!

I might not fit the old box anymore…. But the new one feels much more spacious and comfortable than the one before ✨💕

Life is a big journey, and sometimes we cannot even predict what next year will look like. We can keep learning, growing, putting our needs first, and understanding why things happen to us ⭐️💕

The more time conversation is one I have learned to listen to very carefully rather than take at face value, because it almost always contains the real answer somewhere inside it if you ask the right follow up question, which is not how much more time do you need but what specifically will be different when the time arrives that is not true right now.

The answers that come back to that question divide fairly cleanly into two categories, the ones that name something concrete and changeable like I need to finish the release infrastructure or I need to develop the live show enough to pitch venues seriously, and the ones that name something abstract and permanent like I need to feel more ready or I need to be more confident in the direction, and those two categories have completely different implications for what the next conversation should be about.

The concrete ones usually have a real timeline and a real action attached to them and tend to resolve within a predictable period once someone is holding the artist accountable to the specific thing rather than the general more time.

The abstract ones tend to resolve only when the artist does something before they feel ready, which puts the more time conversation into an interesting position because the thing that ends it is almost always the thing that was being delayed by it.

More time is sometimes genuinely what is needed. It is also the most comfortable explanation for something that has a different cause.

One of the biggest misconceptions I see in the music industry is that getting a manager is the thing that will finally make your career move forward.

A lot of artists imagine that once they have management, someone will create the strategy, find opportunities, organize releases, get them shows and tell them exactly what to do next. But in reality, management often comes into the picture much later, because there usually needs to be something happening already that is actually worth managing.

And no, that doesn't mean you need millions of streams, 100K followers or a sold-out tour. What matters much more is that there is movement and potential: you're consistently releasing music, building an audience, playing shows, generating income or creating opportunities that are becoming difficult to handle completely on your own.

Before contacting managers, ask yourself one important question: What do I actually need a manager for?

Because sometimes you don't need management yet. You might need a better booking strategy, stronger marketing, help with PR, a lawyer for contracts or simply better systems and a clearer plan for your career.

This is why I tell artists to start thinking like they already have management before they actually have it. Know your numbers, understand where your listeners are, keep track of contacts and opportunities, plan your releases properly, build relationships and know what you're working towards.

The goal isn't to find someone who will build your career for you. It's to build enough momentum that the right person can look at what you're doing and think:
“There is something here. Let's see how far we can take it.”

Don't wait for a manager to start acting managed. ⭐

Who else has felt this way before? I experienced it last November, and now it's becoming even more intense in my life. Change takes time, but it feels both scary and wonderful at the same time 💕😃

🇳🇱 Day 5: Amsterdam

Tour Diary: Stop #5 – Amsterdam! 🚲🌷

Honestly, by Day 5 on the road, the tour fatigue was slowly kicking in (maybe because of the Berlin night out before 😅) — but Amsterdam completely woke me up.

Now that I’m home processing the whole experience and looking back at the footage, this day feels like a beautiful blur. The energy was incredibly unique, and the artists brought a fresh, exciting vibe to the @tourmusicfest auditions.

Halfway through the tour, and my mind was already blown. 🤯

The playlist was small enough that most people would have scrolled past the notification without stopping, and the streams it generated in the first week were modest enough that they would not have moved any metric that most musicians track as a measure of whether something is working, and from the outside the reaction probably looked disproportionate to the actual event in a way that would be difficult to explain to someone who has not spent years building something slowly in public with no guarantee that anyone outside your immediate circle will ever find it.

What she was actually crying about was not the two hundred followers, it was the evidence, the first piece of concrete external proof that the music had travelled somewhere on its own without her having to carry it there personally, that a stranger who did not know her and had no reason to be kind to her had listened and decided it belonged in something they were curating, which is a completely different kind of validation than anything that comes from people who love you.

I have been on enough of these calls now to know that this moment, whatever size it arrives at, is one of the more significant ones in a music career, not because of what it produces immediately but because of what it proves is possible, and the artists who let themselves feel it properly rather than immediately minimising it because the numbers are small tend to use it as fuel in a way that the ones who dismiss it do not.

The two hundred followers was not the point. The point was that it happened at all.

The drop came late and without much explanation, the kind of thing that happens occasionally in live music for reasons that are sometimes legitimate and sometimes not and that is almost always more disruptive than the person delivering the news appreciates, and her first reaction was the completely understandable one of wanting to take the weekend to process it before figuring out what came next.

I asked her instead to spend twenty minutes making calls before she did anything else, specifically to every venue contact she had built over the previous eighteen months, not to explain what had happened but just to say she had a night unexpectedly free and was there anything that needed filling, which is a different conversation than asking for a favour and tends to land differently.

One of those calls produced a last minute opening slot at a venue in a different city, smaller than the show she had lost, different audience, not the one she had been preparing for, and she took it because I told her that the worst thing you can do with momentum is let it sit still while you process a setback, and she trusted that enough to get in her car.

Three people at that show turned out to matter in ways that took months to become visible, and the connection that came from one of them eventually led to something significantly larger than the support slot she had lost, which is not a lesson about everything working out in the end but about what you do in the forty eight hours after something goes wrong determining more than most musicians realise.

Most of the artists who ask me about festivals in June are already a year too late. The lineups they're hoping to join were mostly decided while last summer's stages were still being taken down. [Last week in [city]], a booker told me they had [most of next year's slots] filled before [October], and the few that were still open were going to acts who had already filled a room in that region.

So if you're dreaming about next summer, the work starts now: play the shows that prove you can bring people, look for the newcomer stages and showcase festivals built for artists on the way up, and send your pitch in autumn, when bookers are actually reading.

Drop your genre and city below and I'll tell you something specific about your festival market.

Save this for when you're planning your next season.
