I spent a lot of time here in the early 80s. The limestone stairs were a Depression-era project funded by the editor of the town newspaper. A guy in charge of shaping words commissioned out-of-work labourers to shape something beautiful for the town to enjoy. I like the cut of his jib. by @bfletchering

I’m not a car person. But this old car —with a miniature replica of itself in the back window — in the driveway of a wartime bungalow caught my eye. by @bfletchering

I used to listen to “Frank Skinner’s Poetry Podcast” on a run or walk down a country sideroad, usually on a sunny Sunday afternoon. There’s just something about gently deconstructing verse, and giving enough space to softly savour powerful images … all very pastoral, I suppose. But I stopped listening — for whatever reason. I also stopped writing (a connection, perhaps?). I revisited Skinner’s glorious little show today. It was good. And I think it might help me find the words again. 🖤 by @bfletchering
