As I approach my ONE-YEAR ANNIVERSARY as an independent stylist, I can honestly say this journey has been a change! Coming from a franchise salon environment, where walk-ins were part of the everyday flow, to building my own clientele, managing my own business, and learning every aspect of entrepreneurship has been a whole different experience. Education has ALWAYS been at the forefront of my career. But learning to operate a business, build relationships, network, market myself, and create my own lane? That’s a different kind of education! And I’m embracing every lesson along the way. But guess what? I HAVE CLIENTS IN MY CHAIR, AND I’M STILL SHOWING UP! One day at a time, one guest at a time, one transformation at a time. I’m learning to balance business with self-care, make time for family fun, and surround myself with an amazing tribe of industry friends who understand this journey and help me navigate the changes. Having that kind of community is priceless. We truly grow better together! Every day may not look the same, and every season comes with its own lessons, but I’m proud of the progress I’m making and excited about what’s ahead. To every stylist thinking about taking that leap, or currently navigating the transition: give yourself grace. You’re not just building a clientele.
