This was my first book by this author and i will 100% be reading their other books because this was so beautifully written. Please check the trigger warnings before reading, particularly for mental health, depression, grief, survivor’s guilt and suicide.

Please Don’t Go follows Josefine and Daniel, the two meet under difficult circumstances and slowly find themselves becoming each other’s safe place. As their relationship develops from strangers to lovers, they both have to confront the grief, trauma and mental health struggles they’ve been carrying.

This was such an emotional and heartfelt read. I really loved Josefine and Daniel together and watching their relationship slowly develop. They both had so much going on beneath the surface, and I loved how they were able to give each other the space and support to be completely honest.

I also really enjoyed the sports element, although for me the strongest part of the book was definitely the characters and their relationship. Their connection felt really genuine, and there were so many moments where I just wanted to give them both a hug.

The second half definitely got heavier, and I appreciated how thoughtfully the book handled some really difficult topics. It made their journey feel emotional without losing that underlying sense of hope. My only reason for not giving this 5 stars was that I did feel like I wanted a little more from the story in places, I could genuinely have read another 100 pages of these two!

Overall, Please Don’t Go was a beautiful, emotional story about love, grief, healing and finding someone who makes you feel safe enough to be yourself. Josefine and Daniel have definitely stolen a little piece of my heart.

I was SO uncomfortable reading this, but in the best possible way πŸ˜‚ This book had me feeling angry, frustrated and anxious all at the same time, but I completely understand why it’s become such a must read psychological thriller.

Behind Closed Doors follows Grace, who appears to have the perfect marriage to Jack, a successful, charming husband, a beautiful home and a seemingly flawless life but behind closed doors, things are very different, and the more you uncover, the more disturbing the truth becomes.

What I loved most was how quickly the tension built. Every time I thought things couldn’t possibly get worse, they somehow did. The contrast between how perfect everything looked from the outside and what was actually happening behind closed doors was genuinely disturbing, especially because so much of it felt believable.

Grace was a character I found myself desperately rooting for, and I was constantly thinking HOW THE HELL IS SHE GOING TO GET OUT OF THIS?! I also loved how the story slowly revealed more about Jack and the situation Grace had found herself trapped in. It made it almost impossible to put down because I needed to know what was going to happen next.

And THAT ENDING?!? I genuinely didn’t see it coming and had to sit there for a minute afterwards processing what I’d just read. It was exactly the kind of ending I wanted after being put through all that stress.

Overall, Behind Closed Doors was a dark, disturbing, incredibly tense read and would highly recommend it to everyone!!

I went into this not really knowing what to expect and ended up becoming SO emotionally invested. It took me a little while to get into, but once it picked up, I absolutely flew through it.

Every Version of You follows Joey, a corporate attorney who dies unexpectedly in a car accident and is given the chance to live her life again. Knowing exactly where things went wrong the first time, she gets the opportunity to make different choices in love, friendships, family and her career.

I really loved Joey as a main character. She’s messy, flawed and makes plenty of questionable decisions, but that’s what made her feel so real. I loved watching her navigate her second chance and slowly realise that the life she thought she wanted wasn’t necessarily the life that would make her happy.

And then there’s Alex… The history between them and the β€œit’s always been you” element had me completely invested. I also loved the glimpses into his POV, which added so much more depth to their relationship.

The ending was emotional, satisfying and definitely left me thinking about all the different versions of our lives and how things may have turned out differently if we’d have just picked a different option.

Overall, Every Version of You was a beautiful, emotional second chance story about love, regret and choosing the life you actually want. Definitely one that will stick with me.

This was an enjoyable summer read, but unfortunately it didn’t quite live up to my expectations. I liked the overall concept and the messy friendships, but I found myself wanting a little more from the story.

The Shampoo Effect follows Caroline, who leaves New York for a writing residency in the small beach town of Greenhead, where she meets Van and becomes part of his close knit group of lifelong friends, but as Caroline settles into their world, old relationships, secrets and complicated friendships start to unravel.

I really enjoyed the beginning, especially Caroline and Van’s meet cute and watching her find her place within the friend group. The multiple pov’s also gave you a good insight into everyone’s relationships and history, although there were definitely times when I struggled to keep track of who was who.

The biggest issue for me was the pacing. It felt quite slow in places, particularly around the middle, and I kept waiting for the drama to kick off. There were plenty of secrets and complicated relationships, but I never felt as invested in them as I wanted to be. I also thought everything wrapped up a little too neatly considering all the build up.

Overall, The Shampoo Effect was an easy read with some interesting characters and realistic relationship dynamics, but it didn’t quite have enough substance or drama for me to love it.

This was such an interesting read. It was a mix of funny and uncomfortable whilst being a bit too relatable at times, but it had an underlying sadness that really stayed with me. I had SO many thoughts about these characters, especially Chuck πŸ˜…

I Want You to Be Happy follows Chuck and Joey, two aspiring writers who meet in a bar and fall into an intense, complicated situationship. Chuck is recently single and feeling stuck, while Joey is twelve years younger and trying to figure out what she actually wants from life.

Chuck was one of the most infuriating characters I’ve read in a while. I was rolling my eyes at him CONSTANTLY and there were so many moments where I wanted to tell Joey to run. However, at the same time, he felt so realistic, he’s the kind of man you know is bad news but somehow keep going back to.

Saying that, I did like how messy and undefined their relationship was. The mixed signals, overthinking and wanting completely different things felt painfully true to modern dating. I also loved how their ambitions to be writers were woven into the story, capturing that feeling of being stuck and wanting more but not knowing how to get there.

Overall, I Want You to Be Happy was a quick, witty and painfully realistic look at modern relationships, loneliness and feeling stuck. I didn’t love everything about it, but I definitely had feelings about it and sometimes that’s enough.

This wasn’t my first Alice Feeney book, but I think it’s my favourite so far. I was completely invested from the beginning and had absolutely no idea where this was going.

My Husband’s Wife follows Eden Fox, who returns home from her morning run to discover that her key no longer fits her front door. When a woman who looks eerily like her answers, things get even stranger when Eden’s husband insists that the woman inside is actually his wife. Six months earlier, Birdy inherited the same house after receiving a life changing diagnosis, and as her story begins to unravel alongside Eden’s, secrets, lies and long buried truths start coming to the surface.

I LOVED the premise of this. The whole β€˜one house, one husband, two women’ situation had me immediately hooked, and I really enjoyed watching the two storylines slowly come together.

And the twists?!? There were definitely a few moments where my jaw was literally on the floor. I did manage to guess some things along the way, but there were plenty of moments that completely caught me off guard. I also loved that it wasn’t just about the shock factor, there was so much guilt, grief, revenge and history woven into the characters and their decisions.

Overall, My Husband’s Wife was a tense, atmospheric and seriously addictive thriller, and such a good introduction to Alice Feeney if you haven’t read anything of hers before!

Well, I got curious and jumped on the β€˜Google your bookstagram handle’ trend

Apparently romance is my main squeeze and honestly, are we really surprised? I’m a sucker for a good romance, but I equally love a good thriller, sci-fi and a plot twist that makes me question everything

Basically, I’m incapable of committing to one genre.

But now I want to know, what would Google say about you? πŸ‘€
