Today, I stood just offstage as history raised its right hand.

I watched Janice Winfrey, The City Clerk, the Detroit City Council, and Mary Sheffield take their oaths — the first woman ever sworn in as Mayor of Detroit.

And then I turned the camera around.

Because while leadership stepped into the spotlight, my team and I were where we always are — just out of frame, making sure Detroit could see itself in this moment.

We don’t make the history.
We witness it.
We document it.
We carry it forward.

Proud to stand with the Detroit Media Services team — telling the story of this city with intention, integrity, and a whole lot of heart.

Detroit, this one mattered. 💙

If you could make every day at work be like one project, which project would you pick? Without hesitation I’d say, “The Mr.E Show!” #themreshow #childrenstelevision by @bgimagery

This week in Southwest Detroit a main water line blew and an entire neighborhood was flooded. With the frigid temperatures that means flooded basements and iced over streets. People had to be evacuated early Monday morning. My job is to capture events for the city's archives. Walking the flooded streets and seeing the damage was like nothing I have seen before. The community is like nowhere else and the neighbors are taking care of each other as always. ❤️❤️#southwestdetroit #watermainbreak #behindthescenes #detroitmedia by @bgimagery
