Keshava Swami, you began explaining how we can perceive the Divine,
Who’s present not just in one place, but in all things, all the time.

If you’ve ever been stopped by the police, your heart might’ve sunk,
But you might get away with it if you’re dressed like Mister Monk!

You made the point that we’re escaping this world, and it hit us quite deep,
We’re distracted with holidays, movies, alcohol, and sleep.

Yet deep in our heart the answer is clear,
We’re from another world, and we’re not meant to be here.

The first tip you gave, to improve how we live,
Is to become more peaceful and learn to forgive.

Second is time management, which we should have under lock,
With purpose acting as our daily alarm clock.

We should also all become detached - it doesn’t matter if you’re old or in your youth,
And if you think you don’t, you might wanna attend a seminar on telling the truth…

The next tip you gave was to put our ego to the side;
People’s hearts will soften when they see you’re free from pride.

More than food and water, in life we won’t be able to cope
If we don’t learn to live with the feeling of hope.

And don’t forget to be enthusiastic, like an energetic young girl or boy,
Don’t you know that singing and dancing is the most natural expression of joy?

The final pearl of wisdom that you decided to drop
Is that we must learn to keep chanting and never, ever stop.

So let’s give this process all our heart. I’m sure if we really try,
Then maybe one day, when we chant, a tear will fall from our eye.

BEST MEMORIES EVER! 🧡😂🔥

Around this time last year, we set off for the Prabhupada Winter Marathon with the ashram. It was the most magical, fun, austere, adventurous time ever and this was a (supposedly controversial) unreleased highlight video I made which we never got to officially post but here we go, I couldn’t resist!

A once in a lifetime experience I will never ever forget, with the greatest association ever 🧡 by @bhakti.bites

So this is Sanket, he was at the SB day retreat today!

He came up to me and recognised me, I didn’t know who he was.. he went on to tell me that he used to be close and involved with KC and the devotees back in the day in Dubai. But then after coming to the UK he fell out of it and basically wasn’t practising at all.

But then he told me in Jan 2022, he was in Cambridge and was making his way to a friends party. It just so happened that SSP were also in Cambridge that day and we bumped into him on the streets… I approached him but he was super reluctant and didn’t want to take any books. But I gave him an SSP cookie and he accepted it and just went away with that cookie

He told me it was because of that SSP cookie which he ate, that everything changed for him and he started to remember and reconnect with his KC. He got involved and in touch with devotees soon after eating that cookie and his spiritual life restarted from there. Now he is fired up, involved in the community and is even serving at Kings KCSOC!

I pray I can always remember that I am not the doer in these situations but just a puppet in Lord Caitanyas transcendental play.

For me it was inspiring because it shows that something as simple as a cookie offered to Krishna can completely change someone’s life.

And that no sankirtan service goes in vain. Those making the cookies are doing just as much service as those distributing books! All glories to the SSP cookies! And all glories to the devotees who arrange for them to be at SSP, and of course the devotees who bake them and offer them with love!! 🧡🍪🙏🏼 by @bhakti.bites

On this exact day 50 years ago, Srila Prabhupada was on a morning walk in Germany. Here’s 3 small takeaways that stood out from the conversation:

1. The atheists will argue that even if reincarnation exists, then who even cares - we forget about our past life anyway! Prabhupada says this argument is foolish. If you were to hypothetically have the ability cast a spell on that person to turn them into a dog, or blade of grass, would they be fine with it? Would they agree to it? Of course not.

2. Some might argue that plants can’t have souls, because they don’t have sensation. But just because something lacks sensation, it doesn’t mean it lacks life. Scientists have done experiments that give evidence of plants feeling pain, and even growing differently according to music thats played to them. Even when we cut our nails, there’s no sensation - but the nail is growing, because there is life. These sensations are just extremely covered.

3. Atheistic people will argue against the principle of worship. But those same people perform worship at the cemetery. They’ll go to the piece of stone, kneel down and offer flowers. But they don’t know where the person has now gone. They’ll worship the stone in the graveyard, but they won’t worship Radha-Krishna. taken in Germany by @bhakti.bites

Prabhupada Marathon 2023 complete! ✅

And we did it!!! 🥇🫨🎉

I can’t express how grateful I am to the entire devotee community who showed me their love, support and encouragement throughout the marathon.

To the devotees that gave me great advice; to the devotees who sponsored books; to the devotees who cooked and sent amazing prashadam to keep us going - I can’t thank you all enough!

Taking part in the winter marathon was the most intense and purifying experience I’ve been through in Krishna Consciousness. It uncovered a lot things within me and I was able to learn so much about myself in the space of just a month.

It was also a beautiful experience. Being able to connect with amazing souls, touch peoples hearts and experience the magic of Krishna Consciousness. Krishna is truly alive on the streets! 💙

One of my mentors reminded me that even though I’ve been given the label of a “winner”, actually the real winner is Prabhupada. Prabhupada wins the marathon each year - and he’s just kind enough to give someone else the credit each time. Across the country, throughout the month of December, over 165,000 books went out into peoples hands! Prabhupada, the true champion, is surely pleased and smiling on everyone. 😄

Looking forward to the year ahead and the new opportunities, challenges and realisations it has to bring.

Prabhupada Marathon Day 19 & 20!

I managed to stop Hayden (first picture) earlier today in Liverpool and he took a Chant and be Happy. A while later, Hayden comes back and tells me that he went to a coffee shop and already started reading the book! He was absolutely in love with it, praising that the wisdom was so profound yet at the same time so accessible and easy to read. He even highlighted parts of the book that stood out for him and wrote down his personal reflections and realisations!

Hayden went off again, but then came back AGAIN for third time! And this time with his friend. He had praised the book to his friend and convinced them to get one also!

Halfway there! 🫨

"This, our book distribution is the most important task in our society. Therefore I am giving so much stress and I am working so hard on this. Because this is my life and soul according to the order of my Guru Mahārāja. And by his grace it is to some extent successful. And I took it seriously. I take it seriously still now. That is my life and soul. I never tried in India to construct big temples or even in your country we didn't. I never tried. But I was selling personally books. That is the history.”
