Kinda chic to be a brown girl! 🤎 This journey of building a community of South Asian women across disciplines has opened up my world. We are truly doing it all across disciplines, from tech, law, food, heritage brands, makeup, Ayurveda, and the list goes on! You know the drill. We celebrate Brown Girl, Money Moves and if you’re here for that, comment BROWN to join our newsletter! ✉️ by @bhargavivarma
✨ A few weeks ago, BGA took over Silver Arts Projects in NYC for a night of art, investing and brown girl magic. We packed the room with South Asian women in venture, angel investing and tech to talk art, capital and startups - sponsored by Stripe and Montenegro. 🤎 This wasn’t your typical networking event. We had real conversations about art as an asset class, culture as capital, and what happens when brown women become the collectors, the patrons, and the power players. Our panel was a masterclass: 🎨 Anoushka Mirchandani — the artist rewriting how South Asian stories live on canvas 🏛️ Rajiv Menon — the gallerist shifting who gets to hang on the wall 🧠 Jasmine Wahi — the curator making space for identity and imagination to collide Thank you to every inspiring woman who showed up with energy, shared, and made magic with us. Extra love for Anoushka’s limited edition print, our signature BGA gift bags, and the sense of collective possibility in the room. ✨ If you’re a South Asian woman looking to make an impact in rooms full of other brown women, comment BROWN and we’ll send you more info on our growing community. 🤎 A deeply grateful thank you to Stripe and Montenegro for your generous support of our “Investing in Art: From Canvas to Collection” event at Silver Arts Projects. Your partnership played a key role in bringing together South Asian women in venture, angel investing, and the arts to help us build true community. We’re grateful for your commitment to inclusion and for helping make this vision a reality. We need to talk about the South Asian scarcity problem. 👇🏽 @simishah___ just hosted four competing Brown Girl beauty founders, all in Sephora, in the same room for a podcast taping. And people texted me asking how I feel about it. Collaboration is not the enemy of competition. It’s the whole point. We need more of us doing the work. Not less. Have you felt this pull, the scarcity between Brown girls in your own space? Tell me below. This is the conversation we need to have. #BrownGirlAngels #SouthAsianFounders #SouthAsianWomen #BrownGirlFounders #collaborationovercompetition by @bhargavivarma

Most of us were raised on Finance 1.0: save, max your TFSA and RRSP, buy index funds. That foundation matters. But the wealthiest families don’t stop there. They also own private companies, private credit, real estate and businesses. Big names like BlackRock, Morgan Stanley and J.P. Morgan now say private assets belong in the portfolio. And women have historically been left out of these rooms. Finance 2.0 is the next layer: higher risk, longer lockups, more homework, and real ownership. Save this, and tell us in the comments: which era are you in right now? Educational content only, not financial advice. by @bhargavivarma
Every one of these sounds reasonable. I said most of them myself. I wrote my first check in 2020, to Brown Girl Magazine @browngirlmag , a South Asian woman-founded company. Then I went and learned what a SAFE was. I didn’t have a room where I felt comfortable asking the basic questions, so I built one. What I know now: your career already did half the diligence. A doctor reads a health tech pitch differently. A lawyer reads the terms. A marketer knows in two minutes if the brand will land. You don’t need to feel like a finance person. You need the room. Brown Girl Angels is South Asian women investing in each other, one-to-one. We share the diligence, and every member decides and writes her own cheque. If you’re accredited and done watching from the sidelines, comment CHAAT and we’ll send you how to apply. The aunties bought gold. We’re writing checks. by @bhargavivarma
we just wanna be our own housewife 💸 live from Canada with these powerhouses @wealthsummitco @iamginajudge @lisamattam @sahajanskincare @bhargavivarma @browngirlangels @lyn.allure women who have built million dollar businesses and signed angel checks. LETS GOO! missing in frame my powerhouse friend @moneywithafsha who’s also a speaker today. I’ve never felt so invigorated from one singular room. by @bhargavivarma

As a founder of two brands building at 50, there is one fundamental change I’ve made in how I work and what I make time for. Rest. And I hope you do too. It doesn’t have to look like a trip far away. It can look like a walk. Nature and movement for the win. after every work trip, I add some play in the smallest and biggest of ways. I hope you carve out time to do the same. Consider this your sign 🤎🙌🏽 by @bhargavivarma
Happy 2 year anniversary to the pod 🕺 by @bhargavivarma
Tired of translating yourself in every room? Girl, same. For years I was a different version of me at work, at home, and at every place where the aunties were watching. And mom was there to remind me they were lol At 50, I’m so done. The rooms I build now like Brown Girl Angels and Brown Girls, Money Moves are the ones where no brown girl has to explain herself. Alignment at play ✨✨ Two of those rooms are in San Francisco next week, and I would love to see you in them 🤎 🎙️ Building a $7B Unicorn | Live Brown Girls, Money Moves Podcast Recording Thursday, Oct 8, 5:30 to 8:30 PM Deepika Bodapati, co founder and COO of Commure and one of the 2026 Inc.
