CHILDHOOD.

This sculpture represents the spirit of a village boy running freely through the memories of childhood, symbolizing innocence, energy, and the deep connection between rural life and nature. The barefoot figure reflects simplicity, freedom, and the untouched purity of a childhood spent on dusty roads, open fields, and endless outdoor play, where running itself becomes a form of joy and liberation rather than movement toward a destination. The forward motion of the body captures the fearless excitement and dreams of a child who lives beyond the pressures of modern life, while the rough clay texture preserves the raw and unpolished reality of memory itself. Through this work, the running village boy becomes more than a figure; he becomes a symbol of nostalgia, reminding viewers of the freedom, happiness, and emotional warmth that slowly fade as time moves forward and childhood turns into memory. taken in Govt. On 7th October 2024, when you painted strokes on my canvas… it still feels unreal. Even today I can’t forget those moments. A boy who used to go crazy just hearing your name… today he has to say goodbye like this. You gave so much, words fall short. There’s so much I want to say, but I just can’t. Love you always. Rest easy legend 🕊️🤍

Traditional mask

The last 10 days have been a beautiful journey into the traditional art of Majuli mask making—learning the techniques, stories, craftsmanship, and cultural significance behind this unique art form. It was an incredible experience of learning, creating, and connecting with our heritage.

A heartfelt thank you to Narayan Da and Ananta Sir for your constant guidance, patience, and encouragement throughout this journey. 🙏

Special thanks to our Department HOD, Ratul Chandra Gogoi Sir, for providing us with this wonderful opportunity to learn and experience such a valuable part of Assam’s cultural heritage.
