A land of endless granite hills, ancient caves, thorny shrubs—and one of India’s most incredible populations of wild leopards.

There is nothing quite like the adrenaline rush of watching a wild Royal Bengal Tiger emerge from the meadows and pause to mark her territory. Moments like these are what make a Tiger Safari in India one of the most unforgettable wildlife experiences on Earth.

Photographed this yearling in Alligator River. Yearlings are usually 1–2 years old, kind of like bear teenagers. They’re past the tiny-cub stage but not quite independent adults yet. Most yearlings still hang out with their mother, learning crucial survival skills like where to find food, how to climb trees, and which animals (and humans) to avoid.
