AISD is celebrating Custodian Appreciation week this week - and we have 3 great ones! Huge thanks to Mr. Vasquez, Mrs. Cervantes and Mr. Rosales - BHE would be VERY dirty with out you and we wouldn’t laugh nearly as much! We appreciate y’all! #wearebhe #austinisd #ouraustinisd #nuestroaustinisd #strongschoolsstrongeraustin Our Head Custodian, Mr. Vasquez, keeps BHE shining! A 30-year AISD veteran (7 years at BHE), he’s a proud dad of 2 and granddad of 7. Off duty, he loves family cookouts, Longhorns & Cowboys football, and cheering on his grandkids in everything that they do. Thank you for 30 awesome years, Mr. Vasquez! A BHE staple for 17 wonderful years, Mrs. Cervantes keeps our school running smoothly! Family means everything to her—she’s a proud mom of 4, grandma to 11, and great-grandma to 3½. In her free time, she loves family time, dancing, and snagging deals on TikTok Shop. Thank you for 17 years of dedication, Mrs. Cervantes! Now in his second school year at BHE, Mr. Rosales brings nearly a decade of experience to our school! Both he and his wife work for AISD, making it a total family affair. Outside of keeping our campus in great shape, Mr. Rosales loves video games, catching movies, and hitting the arcade. We appreciate everything you do, Mr. Rosales! by @bheeagles

We are so grateful for retired BHE teacher Mrs. Pursley, who has been serving as our substitute librarian! Her warm, welcoming presence has been such a gift to our library. Today was her last day in the library due to retirement rules, but thankfully, she’ll still be on campus in other substitute roles! Thank you, Mrs. Pursley! We are so grateful for you! 💚💛💚 by @bheeagles

Ultimate is coed, inclusive, active, and all about teamwork, with a place for all kinds of players. Many BHE Eagles have gone on to play throughout high school and even into college! And there’s more! BHE after-school Ultimate starts TOMORROW. 🥏 Check out @tuscultimate for more info and to register. Good players. Great teammates. This week, AISD is celebrating our amazing Teacher Assistants—and BHE is celebrating BIG! 💚💛💚 We are so fortunate to have a team of TAs who are professional, compassionate, dedicated, and just plain fun. They show up every day with kindness, patience, flexibility, and so much heart—and our students are better because of them. Please join us in giving a HUGE BHE shoutout to these incredible employees! We appreciate you more than you know! #wearebhe #austinisd #ouraustinisd #nuestroaustinisd #strongschoolsstrongeraustin Meet Mr. Maestri | Special Education Resource Celebrating 8 years at BHE! 💚💛💚 A proud University of Alabama graduate, Mr. Maestri brings positive energy and a genuine love of working with our students. He supports our Special Education Resource students and is known for making everyone feel welcome and connected. Originally from Alabama, he’s a big Crimson Tide fan, enjoys running around Lady Bird Lake, traveling, and a good JuiceLand smoothie. Roll Tide & Go Eagles! 🐘🦅 Meet Mrs. Smith | Life Skills We’re so lucky to have Mrs. Smith celebrating her 4th year at BHE! 💚💛💚 A Trinity University graduate with a BA in Sociology and an MA in Teaching, she brings years of experience, compassion, and a true love of teaching to our Life Skills classroom. A longtime Barton Hills neighbor, Mrs. Smith loves being part of the BHE community. Outside of school, she enjoys time outdoors with her family, discovering new Austin restaurants, traveling, and cheering on her son from the soccer sidelines. We’re so grateful Mrs. Smith is part of our BHE family! Meet Ms. Muniz | Life Skills 19 years of AISD experience + 2 years of BHE love! (How lucky are we?!?) 💚💛💚 Ms. Muniz brings experience, warmth, and so much heart to our Life Skills team. Before joining BHE, she spent many years at Dawson Elementary. She loves spending time with her two adult children, three adult granddaughters, and 12-year-old grandson. Outside of school, you’ll find her playing bingo or enjoying time with her church community. We’re so glad she’s part of Team BHE! Meet Ms. Baker | Life Skills We’re thrilled to have Ms. Baker back for her 2nd year at BHE! 💚💛💚 by @bheeagles

On Wednesdays, we go to Special Olympics! 🎳 Our Life Skills crew had a strikingly good time riding the bus, hitting the lanes, and rolling some serious bowling balls!
