When one of us shines, we create space for so many others to shine. CBC 2026 reminded me of why I was in the room. ✨ I had the incredible honor of receiving an award, the CBC Power 100 Award, recognizing leaders, innovators, and changemakers across the DMV. To be celebrated alongside so many brilliant people who are making an impact in their respective space is something I don’t take for granted.

This year, Congressional Black Caucus Week felt a little more intentional. More meaningful. More connected. CBC is about community and its collective brilliance. It’s about being in rooms filled with people who inspire you to dream bigger, think differently, and keep pushing.

What a beautiful reminder that the work you do, the risks you take, and the dreams you pursue do not go unnoticed. ❤️

Thank you to everyone who made this year so special. Here’s to continuing to build, connect, inspire, and make our mark. 🥂

I’m incredibly honored to be recognized as a CBC Power 100 Honoree this year.

I’m learning to clap for myself as loudly as others clap for me. To accept my flowers without minimizing what it took to earn them. This is one of those moments. 💐

I’ve spent much of my career navigating spaces where there are still far too few Black women at the table. And somewhere along the way, I realized that I never had to choose between being ambitious and being feminine, between taking up space and being myself. I can love fashion, beauty and a fabulous dress, and still walk into rooms where consequential decisions are being made and know that I belong there.

So this one feels especially good.

And to Black women: take up space, bring your whole self with you, and when the flowers come, don’t be afraid to receive them. 💐

Financial independence is getting to decide what “treating myself” looks like. I’ve spent years building a career in tech, building a side business, working hard, making my own money, and creating a life that I’m proud of.

For me, treating myself looks like seeing the world. An unforgettable experience. A villa in Morocco. A room with a view.

Make the money. Save some. Invest some. Be responsible with some. And please, enjoy some of it. You worked for it.

If a dusty man ever tries to belittle you, just remind yourself: this is what we’re looking like in our 40s now. ✨

Ladies, never let a man’s inability to see your value make you question it.

The world is full of good men. Kind men. Emotionally mature men. Men who know how to communicate, show up, love well, and appreciate a good woman. They deserve their flowers too. 💐

So don’t let a bad experience convince you that good love doesn’t exist. And don’t shrink yourself, lower your standards, or start questioning everything you’ve built because some dusty couldn’t recognize what was right in front of him.

Your 40s are not the end of anything. You can still be fine. You can still fall madly in love. You can still meet someone incredible. You can still start over. You can still have the life you imagined.

There is so much life and love ahead of you.

And until it finds you? Stay fine, stay beautiful, handle your business and don’t give af. Love you all 😘

I went to Marrakech looking for a reset, and these are the three places that gave me three different versions of it. 🤎

Life gets loud. A career, meetings, deadlines, notifications, responsibilities. I was constantly feeling that there’s always something that needed attention. And I realized that I needed quiet.

First (slides 1-7). Maison Brummell. Intimate, warm and effortlessly beautiful. Tucked away near the Yves Saint Laurent Museum, it gave me the boutique experience I wanted: personal, design-forward and filled with subtle Moroccan details. The traditional Moroccan breakfast was the best I had during the whole trip. @maisonbrummell

Then (slides 8-15), Amanjena. The old world ultra-luxury resort where @djokernole is hosting his tennis retreat for the ultra-rich. This was my bucket list pick. If you’ve never been to an Aman property, you should at least once in your lifetime. Unimaginable properties worldwide, with service that makes you wonder how they pull certain things off. A completely different kind of quiet. Exclusive, secluded and otherworldly. This place forces you to sit still. Save this place for your honeymoon.

And finally (slides 16-20), Park Hyatt Marrakech. A new destination resort with modern details. Open spaces, beautiful bars, expansive rooms and grounds. A proper resort escape to close out the trip. It gave me the feeling that I had nowhere to be.

Amanjena means “peaceful paradise,” and somehow, even that feels like an understatement. Every archway, reflecting pool, courtyard, and quiet corner felt like a work of art. A breathtaking study in stillness, symmetry, and Moroccan beauty. I was completely in awe. ✨
