Third and final installation of "Apocalypse Trilogy" series. The “imaginary” multinational holding company operates in two of the most profitable sectors of the global market: one division manufactures weapons, while another is dedicated to pharmaceutical research. From an ethical standpoint, developing increasingly efficient systems of death while investing in the preservation of life may seem contradictory. From a business perspective, however, the two operate seamlessly side by side.

Here, flowers become both a mirror and a metaphor for a dystopian future that no longer belongs to the realm of imagination, but to the present. Increasingly less natural and more laboratory-made, they are protected and isolated from the outside world beneath glass domes—reinforcing the rhetoric of nature as a common good while, in reality, making it inaccessible.

LA NUOVA CLASSE
Artistic residence for @cvtastreetfest

In Civitacampomarano, a faded inscription still survises: "W LA NUOVA CLASSE 1926" - Italian for "LONG LIVE THE NEW CLASS OF 1926". It was painted by a group of young men during the medical examinations for military conscription, as this small village was home to the facility where military medical assestments were carried out. The inscription has remained untouched for nearly a century.

The year 1926 carries profound historical significance. 100 years ago, it marked the birth of the generation shaped first by the education and propaganda of the Fascist regime, and later by the rupture of the war. Many of these young people were called up for military service while still in their teens, forced to leave their homeland, while other peoples joined the Resistance. Those who painted that message likely looked toward the future with hope, yet also with the uncertainty and fear for what lay ahead.

The new inscription "W LA NUOVA CLASSE DEL 2026", faithfully reproduces the original in its lettering, scale and technique. By mirroring the earlier work, it estabilishes a dialogue between two generations born a century apart - generations that inherited profound vision of the future.

If 100 years ago, a wall could become a space for expressing collective identity and beloging, then today, in an increasingly digital world, where are the places, gestures and values through which a generation recognizes itself?

In 2020, @francesco_garbelli and I embarked on a project created in the streets of Milan: "Apocalypse Trilogy". Six years later, we're pleased to present this collaboration at @spazioc21 in Reggio Emilia as part of the exhibition called "Teatro umano, teatro della natura", together with my brothers @dott.porka.

Biancoshock used and discarded a disposable camera to document a disposable economy.

The disposable camera, manufactured in 2005, was found inside an abandoned factory in 2012. The artist used all 27 exposures to document the building and then left the camera behind. Inside it remained the images of the factory: photographs of abandoned objects, preserved within an abandoned object inside an abandoned place.
The camera and the factory share the same condition: both were designed to be useful, and both were abandoned once their usefulness had come to an end. The work highlights one of the consequences of the capitalist economic system, in which companies, people, resources, and tools are used and discarded without moral consideration.

ATTENZIONE

Intervention carried out in one of the largest abandoned industrial sites in Piemonte region. In this 350,000 m² area there is a significant amount of asbestos.
The drafting table is placed at the entrance of the first building: a symbol of industrial design and progress—it's reactivated to draw the asbestos hazard sign.
An object originally created to imagine and build the future is thus used to mark what remains of that future: a contaminated, suspended, inaccessible environment.
For decades, asbestos was considered an innovative material, ideal for industry due to being cheap, resistant, and fireproof. Today it represents one of the most contradictory legacies of progress. Its presence transforms the productive space into a place of risk, overturning the original meaning of the factory: from a place of development to a place to be avoided.

𝟭𝟬 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗴𝗼 I started with Harmen de Hoop an independent project that is still active.
Harmen and I are not only continuing this project, but we are also engaged in an ongoing exchange of ideas, reflections, and thoughts that has made us friends and is helping us grow artistically.

"Without meeting Harmen de Hoop and Biancoshock will give eachother assignments to make an artwork in the city where they currently are. Every work will be a reaction to the one made before by the other artist".

THE WHEEL.

We work ourselves to exhaustion just to enjoy brief moments of real life. We devote all our time to the pursuit of dreams that, usually, will never come true.
We’re taught that life is a wheel that turns, and that’s absolutely true. What we’re not told is that it spins within a system built on results, profit, productivity, and debt.
We go into debt to buy things in a desperate attempt to ease our dissatisfaction. We’re obsessed with the fear of failing at work, in the family, in society.

The piece was created inside a factory that went bankrupt more than 10 years ago.

THE HOURGLASS ⏳️

Traffic signs communicate safety and progress. But when they remain for too long, they become lies. The hourglass transforms an operational message - we are working - into a temporal one: we are still waiting.
