Elyu holds something bittersweet for me. I tried going alone to reclaim the energy I lost, and I would do it all over again minus some parts, of course.

I know everything that happened came with a reason, but I’m still learning and continuing to find that semblance of peace and power I once lost.

1 year with J&J — A recap to where i’m at.

Before I even got here, these were the words that followed me:

‘Tatlong taon ka na rito, bobo ka pa rin.’
‘’Yan lang ginagawa mo?’
‘I’m not gonna give you the answer.’
‘You don’t possess the basic skills for an Analyst.’
‘Grammar pa lang, bobo ka na.’
‘I don’t trust you, di ka careful sa data set mo.’
‘Alam mo ba ginagawa mo?’
‘Bobo!’
‘Bagong taon na bobo ka pa!’
‘Di naman maganda.’

They weren’t just words.
They lingered. They echoed—long after they were said.

What hurt more were the quiet whispers,
spoken as if I wasn’t even there.

For a while, I carried all of that with me.
I was told I wasn’t fit to be a Data Analyst.

I don’t know if I’m still the same person.
Maybe I am, maybe I’ve changed.
But I kept trying to better myself—
not just for others, but for me.

On my third attempt with J&J, something shifted.
I applied myself. I focused on everything that was once criticized.
And slowly, it turned into growth.

This year wasn’t just about staying—
it was about unlearning the voices that told me I couldn’t.

And choosing, every day, to prove otherwise.
