What if one of the biggest prophecy mistakes is assuming modern Israel is still God’s prophetic focus?

That may sound controversial, but let’s see what the Bible actually says.

In the Old Testament, Israel was God’s chosen nation because through them the Messiah would come and God’s truth would be shared with the world.

But everything changed when Jesus came.

The promises didn’t fail—they were fulfilled in Christ.

That’s why Paul writes:

“If you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.”
— Galatians 3:29

Notice he doesn’t say the promise belongs to one modern nation.

He says it belongs to everyone who belongs to Christ.

Paul also says:

“He is not a Jew who is one outwardly… but he is a Jew who is one inwardly.”
— Romans 2:28-29

The New Testament shifts the focus from one ethnic nation to God’s worldwide family of believers.

Peter even takes the titles once given to ancient Israel and applies them to the church:

“You are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation.”
— 1 Peter 2:9

This doesn’t mean Jewish people are rejected by God.

Not at all.

The gospel is still “for the Jew first and also for the Greek” (Romans 1:16), and God loves every person equally.

It simply means that Bible prophecy is no longer centered on the modern nation-state of Israel.

The center of prophecy is now Jesus Christ and everyone who places their faith in Him.

That’s why the final conflict in Revelation isn’t about one piece of land in the Middle East.

It’s about worship.

Will we follow the Lamb wherever He goes… or follow a counterfeit authority?

Keep your eyes on Christ.

He’s the center of prophecy, from Genesis to Revelation.

What if we’ve been looking for the wrong Antichrist?

Many people are waiting for one evil world leader to suddenly appear. But when you let the Bible explain itself, the picture is much bigger.

The word “antichrist” doesn’t simply mean “against Christ.” It also means “in place of Christ.” An antichrist is a counterfeit, something that claims Christ’s authority while replacing Him.

Here are five clues the Bible gives:

1. It grows out of the Roman Empire.
Daniel 7 shows four kingdoms: Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, and Rome. The little horn appears after Rome is divided (Daniel 7:7-8).

2. It is both political and religious.
This power has eyes and a mouth speaking great things (Daniel 7:8). It doesn’t just rule nations, it speaks for God.

3. It claims authority that belongs to God alone.
Paul says the “man of sin” sits in the temple of God, exalting himself (2 Thessalonians 2:3-4). The issue is spiritual authority.

4. It lasts for centuries, not just a few years.
Daniel gives a prophetic time period of 1,260 days (Daniel 7:25), which many Bible students understand symbolically as a long span of history. That doesn’t fit the life of one individual.

5. It attempts to change God’s law and persecutes God’s people.
Daniel says this power would “think to change times and law” and would oppose the saints (Daniel 7:25).

Put these clues together, and many Christians throughout history concluded that the prophecy describes a religious-political system, not merely one future individual.

This doesn’t mean every Catholic is the Antichrist. God has sincere followers in many churches, and He knows every heart (John 10:16). Bible prophecy is pointing to a system of authority, not condemning individual people.

The purpose of prophecy isn’t to attack people. It’s to point us back to Jesus as our only Mediator, our only High Priest, and the only Head of His church.

What if the greatest deception in history doesn’t look evil… but looks exactly like Jesus?

That may sound shocking, but it’s exactly why Jesus warned His followers over and over again about deception.

In Matthew 24, when the disciples asked Jesus about the signs of His return, His very first warning wasn’t about wars, earthquakes, or the economy.

It was:

“Take heed that no one deceives you.” — Matthew 24:4

A few verses later He explained why:

“False christs and false prophets will arise and show great signs and wonders, so as to deceive, if possible, even the elect.” — Matthew 24:24

Think about that.

If Satan wants the world to worship him, why would he appear looking like Satan?

He wouldn’t.

The Bible says Satan can disguise himself as “an angel of light” (2 Corinthians 11:14). Revelation also describes a time when miraculous signs deceive the nations (Revelation 13:13-14).

So how can we know the difference?

The Bible tells us exactly what Jesus’ return will look like.

Jesus said His coming will be like lightning flashing across the sky (Matthew 24:27). It won’t happen secretly or in one small place.

Every eye will see Him (Revelation 1:7).

There will be the voice of the archangel, the trumpet of God, and the resurrection of the righteous (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17).

No counterfeit can copy everything God has already revealed.

That’s why the final test isn’t simply whether someone performs miracles.

It’s whether we trust God’s Word more than our own eyes.

The devil’s greatest weapon has never been open rebellion.

It’s counterfeit truth.

That’s why Jesus repeatedly pointed people back to Scripture.

Don’t build your faith on feelings, signs, or what everyone else believes.

Build it on the Bible.

Because when the real Jesus returns, you won’t have to wonder if it’s Him.

You’ll know.

“Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.” — Matthew 24:35

The greatest deception won’t come wearing horns. It will come wearing a crown.

Many people picture the final deception as something obviously evil. But the Bible paints a different picture.

Jesus warned that “false christs and false prophets will arise and show great signs and wonders, so as to deceive, if possible, even the elect” (Matthew 24:24). That tells us the deception won’t simply be false teaching—it will include convincing supernatural miracles.

Paul adds another piece to the puzzle. He says the coming of the lawless one will be “according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders” (2 Thessalonians 2:9-10). Revelation says evil spirits will perform miracles that influence the kings of the earth (Revelation 16:13-14).

So why do many Christians believe Satan will impersonate Christ?

Because the Bible gives us the clues.

Jesus said His return will be visible like lightning flashing across the sky (Matthew 24:27). Every eye will see Him (Revelation 1:7). The righteous dead will be raised (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17). Jesus gathers His people, and this world comes to an end as we know it.

A counterfeit can’t copy all of that.

Instead, Scripture warns about a powerful religious deception filled with miracles, signs, and messages that lead people away from God’s truth. The goal is to make people believe they are following Christ while accepting a different authority.

That’s why Jesus’ very first warning about the last days wasn’t, “Watch for wars.”

It was:

“Take heed that no one deceives you.” — Matthew 24:4

The safest place to stand isn’t with the loudest preacher, the most impressive miracle, or the most convincing experience.

It’s with God’s Word.

If a miracle, vision, or religious movement asks you to set aside what Scripture plainly teaches, no matter how impressive it looks, the Bible says to choose Scripture every time.

Truth isn’t tested by miracles.

Miracles are tested by truth.
