A big day for us and everyone who supports Romchyk! 🇺🇦

We’re proud to announce that our Ukrainian premiere will take place on October 26–27 as part of the competition programme of the 54th Molodist Kyiv International Film Festival!

This is a truly meaningful milestone for our team - being selected by one of Eastern Europe’s most prestigious film festivals is an incredible honour. It is the only film festival in Ukraine accredited by FIAPF, which makes this recognition even more special for us.

We deeply value this opportunity and are sincerely grateful to Andriy Khalpakhchi, the Festival President and Artistic Director and the entire festival team @molodist_kiff for their trust and dedication to supporting filmmakers from around the world.

Our heartfelt thanks also go to @derzhkino and @osipovandriy for their continuous support of Ukrainian cinema and for keeping the industry strong and inspired through these challenging times.

Thank you to everyone who believed in Romchyk - this journey continues, and we can’t wait to share our film with the Ukrainian audience for the very first time 💛💙

We are deeply grateful to the BBC for the opportunity to share the story of Ukrainian hero Roman Oleksiv with the world. When many grow weary of the war, we remain steadfast-tireless in our commitment to telling the truth. Because this is not just a film - it is the fate of a real child.

Thousands of children in Ukraine and around the world have had their lives forever altered by missile strikes, war, and occupation. Our mission remains unchanged-to be the voice of those who have suffered.

We want this story to reach audiences across the globe, so people can truly understand the devastating impact of war on children.

We had the great honour to receive an invitation and organize a private screening of the film «Romchyk» for Pope Francis.

It’s the first time in Vatican history that an audience with His Holiness has taken place in this format.

The goal of this film remains unchanged: the story of Roman Olekhsiv must be seen by the whole world and we are grateful for the attention this screening will bring this project.

«For us, Romchyk is a symbol of all children suffering because of the war. His resilience and strength of spirit inspire and give hope» - Kostiantyn Bidnenko.
«We are doing everything we can to make this story known in every corner of the world, but we would give anything for it never to have happened» - Lara Kozah @lara.kozah , producer.

Дуже дякую @valeria.abdal та @children.heroes за те, що ви робите.

What Do You Take When Your Life Must Fit Into a Suitcase?

We were deeply honoured for the opportunity to host a private screening of DIRT at the European Parliament, accompanied by a panel discussion and an art installation, “Confiscated Memories”. The event brought together policymakers, cultural actors, journalists and experts to address displacement, integration, and the role of culture and media in times of war.

The installation featured real personal belongings of internally and externally displaced Ukrainians, tracing how these objects have gained new meanings and become physical symbols of home.

The panel discussion featured First Vice-President Sabine Verheyen, Monika Hohlmeier, Vice-Chair of the Committee on Budgets, His Excellency Vsevolod Tchentsov, Vít Novotný (migration expert at the Wilfried Martens Centre for European Studies), Dr Sara Marino, Svitlana Baldina and her son Viktor Dynnyk from “Let’s Shake Hands” project, Nathalie Georges (ARTE Reportage), producers of DIRT Konstantin Bidnenko (@bidnenkok) and Lisa Kochanova (@lisakochanova), and writer-director Lada Kopytova (@ladakopytova).

The event delivered one clear message: Europe’s response to displacement must go beyond emergency support — it must combine long-term integration, cultural understanding, and credible information to build resilient societies.

Thank you First Vice-President Sabine Verheyen (@sabineverheyen), Monika Hohlmeier, Vice-Chair of the Committee on Budgets (@monika.hohlmeier), and the European Parliament (@europeanparliament) team for your continued support for Ukraine and for allowing us to share this important story.

CONFISCATED MEMORIES is an art installation conceived in dialogue with short film DIRT (2026), that incorporates real items of internally & externally displaced Ukrainians to explore the intimate realities of displacement and the enduring human need to carry home across borders, asking the question - can you fit your homeland in a suitcase?

These items, both ordinary and deeply symbolic, are intertwined with suitcases filled with soil from which living plants emerge. Together, they form a quiet yet powerful landscape of memory, survival, and rootedness. Surrounding the installation, photographs and testimonies contextualise each object, revealing the personal histories behind what was carried and what was left behind.

We had the honour of showcasing the installation at the European Parliament (@europeanparliament), where it accompanied the screening of DIRT.

Thank you to everyone who contributed their personal stories and items via our open call: Anastasiya, Maria, Luka, Marta, Viktoria, Maria, Marharyta, Yulia, Daria, Maria, and Vasyl.

And thank you @pepinieres_de_boitsfort for the beautiful plants and your cooperation.

On our first day at the European Parliament @europeanparliament, we opened the exhibition “Confiscated Memories” @bidnenkok @ladakopytova @lisakochanova @e.razumkova 🫰🏼

It brings together deeply personal items carried by Ukrainians as they fled the war - the few things that could fit into a suitcase when leaving home behind. At the heart of the exhibition is a powerful installation of suitcases filled with soil, created in dialogue with the short film “Dirt” @dirt.movie.

The film was presented by the team to the First Vice-President of the European Parliament, Sabine Verheyen @sabineverheyen, Monika Hohlmeier @monika.hohlmeier, Vice-Chair of the Committee on Budgets and Ambassador of Ukraine to the European Union @chentsovvsevolod.

The exhibition also features the work of Ukrainian war journalist Yan Dobronosov @dobronosov, whose photographs capture the reality on the ground and reveal the cause-and-effect - why people were forced to leave their homes in the first place.

This is not just about objects. It is about memory, identity, and loss.

The topic of refugees and their integration remains critically important. We could not stay silent - and we made sure this conversation is seen, felt, and heard at the heart of Europe. taken in European Parliament, Brussels by @bidnenkok
