My thoughts 6years ago and look now around…We very easily sit in judgement of others. “The people who are selfish”, “the people who were supposed to think of migrant workers “ , “the people who are racist” . We need to remember that change starts in us.

Have I contributed to bigotry, discrimination and racism in any way? Have I judged another person because he/she was fat/ thin, tall/ short? Have I looked at someone with judgement because of the way they behaved? Without considering perhaps their situation at all? Have I judged someone because their shorts were too short or their t shirt was too tight? Laughed at a persons accent?

Judgement starts small but it extends to hate based on absolutely nothing!

You might feel that what I mentioned are small things... but small things are what feed into big things. This is what children learn and when they grow up, they think it’s ok to treat someone else badly because they are different.

Honestly it doesn’t matter why they are different. It shouldn’t matter at all.

I have tried to ask myself in these situations.... how can I help? Surprisingly enough, many answers come up. They may not be massive things, but I know that if we all do small things, it will become a big thing.
